One of the most pernicious dangers for people of faith is assuming that Jesus's moral instincts match our own. Sometimes this looks like assuming that God hates the same people we hate (nope - God loves them, the same as God loves us). Other times that looks like assuming our moral justifications would earn God's sign-off (nope - God is perfectly ready to challenge us to do better). In both instances, our challenge is to remember that while we always see only in part, God sees the whole. And much as this challenges our biases and self-justifications, this reality is actually really good news. Because it means that even when God is rebuking us, this correction is a message of love. It is an invitation to expect more from God and from ourselves.

"Living as Light" - Ephesians 5:1-20

This poem is a sharp, philosophical reflection on how easily people distort meaning — renaming feelings, actions, and truths to make them more convenient. The narrator exposes the contradictions of human nature: calling love “madness,” failure “experience,” and despair “prayer.”

Through vivid irony, the poem shows how language becomes a mask for moral confusion. People justify weakness as wisdom, disguise fear as faith, and confuse repentance with enlightenment. The poet suggests that in constantly renaming our flaws, we lose clarity and turn life into chaos — mixing joy with suffering, poison with elixir, and eternity with dust.

“Calling Our Meetings Accidents” is both confession and critique — a poetic mirror held up to a world afraid to face its own truth.

This poem is a powerful act of self-reflection and humility. The author observes how people constantly intrude into the lives, thoughts, and emotions of others — judging, advising, and condemning — while rarely taking time to understand themselves.

Through irony and confession, the narrator admits his own guilt: the tendency to judge others without the right or the wisdom to do so. The poem contrasts human curiosity about others’ “souls” with the neglect of one’s own inner world.

In the final lines, the poet turns toward repentance and faith, acknowledging that only God has the authority to judge. True understanding, he concludes, comes not from examining others, but from looking deeply into one’s own soul — at any cost.

DJ Denis Lop began his career in 1997 at Club “Spice” in Haifa, quickly becoming its resident from 1997–1998. His energetic style and unique musical taste led him to perform across numerous Israeli clubs throughout the late ’90s and early 2000s.

From 2001 to 2002, he served as a resident DJ at Club “Armageddon” (Karmiel), and from 2003 to 2004 — at Club “Spider” (Haifa).
Over the years, he played in many well-known venues, including:
