The Super Eagles of Nigeria have modified their pre-tournament plans for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations following a new FIFA directive on player release dates. Nigeria had initially scheduled the start of its AFCON training camp for December 10. However, FIFA has formally notified national associations that clubs are only mandated to release players from December 15. In line with the updated regulation, the Super Eagles will now open camp on December 14, allowing the coaching staff a narrow window to assemble the squad before the tournament kicks off.
