I started this episode in a bit of a grumpy mood because rekordbox/ Mac issues meant that all of latest downloads that I was so looking forward to playing remained trapped on my Mac and not my USB. But I soon cheered up as I picked out some choice cuts from the 8,000 or so tracks that were on the stick. A mixed bag as always but keeping things more on the disco side of things for a lot of it… 

…and for good reason, as my guest this time was none other than Tatiana - part of The Disco Express. TDE are one of my favourite labels, and they should be one of your favourite labels too. And Tatiana is an expert selector, who put together a superb mix for your listening pleasure. 

Tatiana is a London-based DJ, audio producer, and music journalist. Her sound moves smoothly between disco, high-energy italo, and soulful house, all underpinned by funky basslines to keep you moving on the dance floor.

She has played the likes of E1, 25 Paul Street, Colour Factory, Night Tales, Oslo Hackney, XOYO, and POW Brixton, and at festivals such as El Dorado, Queen’s Yard Summer Party, Access The Festival, and Brixton Disco Festival, as well as regular gigs in Berlin at venues such as the iconic KitKatClub, Bulbul, Klunkerkranich, and Crack Bellmer. In 2024, she made her Paris debut at Les Bains, and has just returned from playing her first run of gigs in Tokyo in the spring.

She is part of the team behind The Disco Express - an East London label & event series renowned for hosting the world’s biggest names in disco. She’s active behind the scenes booking line-ups, managing events, and helping with the day-to-day running of the label.

Declan Mulligan is both an audio  and visual artist. Composing and recording as 'The Artdeco Sound Project', he is a multi-instrmentalist with over 40 years of professional and semi-professional musical experience. Playing with various Rock Bands in Dublin, Ireland, he has also produced and co-produced a large volume of work.

He went back to college in 2000 to study fine art & and design. Graduating with an Honours BFA, he then went on to study Digital Media at Masters Level. 

He lives in a small coastal area south of Dublin City with his wife Louise and their son Phoenix.

Ëmbyrblume is an artist who inspires and brings hope to listeners. Her soulful and dynamic performance creates a grand, emotional world of yin and yang that envelops audiences and captivates their hearts.

After 12 years of performing as KATIE SE7EN, the artist has undergone a profound personal and creative transformation. Nearing 50 and reflecting on her musical journey that began when she started producing music at 42 without any prior musical background, she feels ready to manifest her true musical identity. This evolution has led to her rebirth as Ëmbyrblume - a name that symbolizes a new start and triumph for KATIE SE7EN.

In 2019, her original track "Deeper Woods" was picked up by the European legend Sasha. "Krinne Circle" in 2020 received high praise from Mixmag Asia. In 2023, she released "Tribe of the Hidden Cliff" in the compilation album "All Tomorrow's Parties" by Global Ark Recordings, featuring a song by Techno God Ken Ishii. "Tribe Of The Hidden Cliff" depicts a tribe on a distant future earth, establishing a unique style that feels new yet somehow nostalgic. It has been selected for the playlists of overseas tastemakers and played by many artists. In 2024, she was chosen for the Freedom Engine Academy, led by Mathew Jonson, one of the most outstanding musicians and producers in contemporary electronic music, and received a scholarship. She has begun to reach new heights under her new mentor, Mathew.

In 2022, when she performed live on AbemaTV, the show attracted over 30,000 viewers and became a hot topic in Japan's dance music scene. She has provided mixes to numerous domestic and international radio stations and labels. While she continues to energize the dance floors at top clubs and parties in Tokyo, including the iconic WOMB, her cherished party "Deeep!," a safe musical playground for everyone, has become a spiritual home to her friends and families.

Ëmbyrblume is constantly pushing herself. She fuses live percussion and DJ performances in her experimental live show, WEYEKIN, plays for cultural events at an embassy and radio programs, releases collaborative tracks with overseas singers, and exhibits music NFTs in the metaverse. These innovative endeavors keep her fresh and driven. She will continue to positively impact the dance music scene, now under a new artistic identity that more authentically represents her current self.
