ENG These tracks are the soundtrack part of the Spagiria collection of paintings, an exhibition born from the artistic residency that Gola Hundun carried out in Phuket, Thailand, during April and May 2023, working on the transfiguration of the decorative elements that adorn the architecture of Thai Buddhist temples.

The concept of the project was to create a series of pieces consisting of a visual and an audio part. Twelve canvases were created using the ecoprinting technique, which were paired with twelve audio compositions based on recordings of animals, water and atmospheric agents recorded during the two months of residency and the two previous months spent travelling through Colombia and Ecuador. Gola used a Zoom F2 to record his explorations and encounters with the endemic fauna of the jungles, seas and mountains he had the privilege of encountering.
The collaboration with Lorenzo Camera (Mondo Riviera) made possible the creation of compositions based on sound elements from nature, a line of work and concept that unites both the musical and visual aspects, a spagyric action.

ITA Questi brani sono la parte sonora della collezione di quadri Spagiria, una mostra nata dalla residenza artistica che Gola Hundun a realizzato a Phucket in Thailandia durante i mesi di aprile e maggio 2023 lavorando sulla trasfigurazione degli elementi decorativi che ornano le architetture dei templi buddisti thailandesi.

Il concetto del progetto prevedeva di realizzare una serie di pezzi costituiti da una parte visiva e parte sonora, sono state realizzate dodici tele utilizzando la tecnica dell’ecoprinting alle quali si abbinano altrettanti componimenti sonori realizzati partendo da registrazioni di animali, acqua e agenti atmosferici registrati durante i due mesi di residenza e nei due mesi precedenti passati viaggiando attraverso Colombia e Ecuador. Gola ha registrato grazie ad uno Zoom F2 le sue esplorazioni e gli incontri con la fauna endemica delle giungle dei mari e delle montagne che ha avuto il privilegio di incontrare.

La collaborazione con Lorenzo Camera (Mondo Riviera) ha reso possibile la creazione delle composizioni partendo da elementi sonori provenienti dalla natura, una linea di lavoro e di concetto che accomuna sia la parte musicale che quella visiva, un azione spagirica.

Gola Hundun (1982, Cesena, Italy)
Live and work in Rimini. Gola Hundun’s work shows the relationship between human beings and the biosphere. This consideration combined with the conscious decision to live as a vegetarian since the age of 16 positions the artist and his work closer to the animal sphere to the human sphere.He explores themes such as interspecies communication, shamanism, a return to the earth, vegetarianism, and spirituality.

Gola’s first foray into the world of art began with a classical artistic training at Ravenna´s high school of arts in Italy, not even it was at the early age of 12 years old when he did his first steps related with the Street Art doing the traditional graffiti’s lettering styles, but at the age of 14 he returned at the home’s privacy to create his first illustrations and paintings.

Gola Hundun continues his studies at Bologna’s Academy where he got a degree in Fine Arts. In 2004 he moved to Barcelona, where he still living and working. Is Barcelona where his work has been influenced by the local graffiti making him decides to bring his creations back to the street’s walls.

The late 2000’s has been a period of growing and sporadic activity while he travel between Italy, Spain and around Europe. In 2010 he spent a residency semester in Quebec, Canada, where began his artistic career in terms of a global scale. From the completion of his art residency in 2010 until our days his work made him to visit many countries around the world with rather collective and solo shows including places such as Sao Paulo Brazil (2011), Jenin Palestine (2011), Moscow Russia (2012), Tokyo Japan (2012), Almaty in Kazakhstan (2013), and recently Miami in U.S.A. (2014) Dominican Republic (2016).

The universe he creates has always an allegoric interpretation and is enhance by many influences such post human culture, sacred art, zoology, psychedelic art and by the many cultures he found and still finding during his travels around the world.

Besides his work as painter, Gola Hundun also creates public installations incorporating fiber, living plants, music and live performances.

We are an online community radio streaming 24/7 from a wooden shack in the heart of Brussels’ historic “Parc Royal”.

"The author of these notes has spent his life explaining radical music, and the music on this disc may be the most radical I've ever written about. Peter Thoegersen (b. 1967) is not yet a name known to the music world; not for any lack of connection to other famous musicians, but because he came to composition late, and because his artistic aims are so broad and complex that they have taken years to evolve. His aesthetic is well defined, and he is upfront about having a name for it: "Polytempic Polymicrotonal Music." That means he has musical layers simultaneously moving in different tempos, plus, even more radically, that he has different microtonal scales playing at the same time. Few composers have aimed at such fervent and heterogeneous multidimensionality. And yet, while Thoegersen's music can seem overwhelming at first, running through it is a level of charm and simplicity that belies the initial impression.

In total, these three pieces emphasize a particular side of Thoegersen's output. The image his music creates of ornately mathematical structures filled with intuitively friendly melodies maps on to the personality of the man himself: outspoken and acerbically ruthless in his musical opinions, Thoegersen is also marked by a jolly sense of humor and an inexhaustible love of cats and other animals that make him ultimately less imposing and more personable than he might seem at first. The same can be said for his music. And by going further than anyone else has gone in terms of this particularly American concept of fusing the polytempic with the polymicrotonal - extending and combining the conceptual worlds of Ives, Cowell, Nancarrow, Partch, Carter, even Frank Zappa and many others - he has created a special place for himself within American music."
