From the composer: "Karen as the Devil is a piece of music done in classic horror fashion. There is no rhythmic pulse, nor a tonal center. Karen, a viola, is undergoing possession from the devil. You are placed in an empty corridor with the inability to see. All you know is that you must escape the devil’s appearance, which is imminent. This piece is written for a group of six violas with a backing track. Each viola is to improvise using a specific technique upon cues to simulate the emergence of the devil in the body of the violas. As the piece continues on, there are entrances of midi clips that add to the texture and keep the performers on track until the end of the piece. Karen as the Devil is sure to shake an audience to its core."

Quando la fusione opera spontaneamente, con un'incoscienza prontezza e sufficienza, produce riconoscimento.
