Xlo The Misfit – “Sins”

In “Sins,” Xlo The Misfit taps into a more soulful and introspective side of his artistry. Built on a haunting guitar loop, ambient harmonies, and hard-hitting drums, the track delivers a meditative yet emotionally raw atmosphere. His warm, expressive vocals and poetic delivery reflect Detroit’s underground wave, drawing comparisons to artists like rYo, cade, and Michelangelo.

Xlo opens up with lines like “this rap shit got me thinking I don’t need friends,” setting a confessional tone. With bars like “let this shit begin, who gon’ be here in the end,” he shares a vulnerable monologue that challenges the hyper-aggressive norms of the local rap scene. 

Speaking on the creative process, Xlo shares:
“I was having writer’s block for a while, then one day I made the beat and played the chords — and it finally clicked. It felt like a therapy session, a moment to express how prideful I am about my art and who I am.”
