Straturday Night LIVE! 🔥 Talking Guitars & Demoing Gear #GuitarGear 2/1/25

On-location interview with a singer, songwriter, guitar player who just released a new album last month, on January 10th.  At the end of October, he released a video for one of the songs that would end up on the album and it already has well over 41 thousand views on YouTube.  He has an amazing story of getting out to southern California to perform at LAST year’s NAMM Show and in addition to performing at this year’s, he has shows coming up in late February on back-to-back nights in Georgia. Talking Guitars: The NEW MXR Rockman X100 DEMO & Lost NAMM Footage! 🎸 #MXRRockman 2/7/25

An award-winning pop singer-songwriter, who has released seven albums and two EPs.  Singles from his most recent album Surrender (2023) have accumulated over five million streams across all platforms and charted on Top 40 radio in both the U.S. and South Africa.  He has new singles that will probably come out this spring.  He has performed as an actor and singer in touring companies of Broadway musicals as well as in made-for-TV movies, voice overs and commercials.  He has opened for and collaborated with a wide range of artists including Pat Benatar, John Oates, Rosanne Cash, Les Paul, and many more.  This interview was recorded live, on-location in Anaheim, California, at the NAMM Show.

NHTE 574 Jann Klose

A folk duo that put out a ten-song album that was released last May and has a new single coming out next month.  They have been reviewed by Parade Magazine and performed on international stages in addition to having earned first place at the 2023 Tucson Folk Festival songwriting contest and second place in the International Acoustic Music Awards, among other accolades.  Amidst their rigorous tour schedule, the duo founded Portland’s Folk Festival.  Their top five songs on Spotify have gotten more than 1.3 million streams on that platform alone.  This interview was recorded live on-location in Anaheim, California, where they were performing at the NAMM Show.

NHTE 575 Fox & Bones

Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist who released a new album this past October.  Her live performances have been featured on National Public Radio, TEDx, and Zillow, and she has toured extensively throughout Europe.  She was nominated for 2024 Acoustic Act of the Year and 2023 Americana Artist of the Year at the Arkansas Country Music Awards.  She has also made her mark on regional TV and radio platforms.  She is going back across the pond next month to do shows in London, the Netherlands, and Ireland.  This interview was recorded live, on-location last month at the NAMM Show in Anaheim, California, where she was performing.

NHTE 576 Ashtyn Barbaree

Southern California-based singer, songwriter, and piano player who had a big year with releases in 2024, putting out an album last May, five singles, a Christmas song, and was featured on songs released by two other artists.  She has worked with GRAMMY-award winning producers and artists, and one of the songs from her album last year was placed on an episode of Children Ruin Everything on the CW network.  Additionally, she had a song selected as a finalist in the International Songwriting Competition, plus, she has gained recognition from legendary rockers such as Mick Fleetwood and Steven Tyler.  In 2022, a live video of her performing went viral on TikTok, hitting 4.5M views and boosting her online presence.

NHTE 577 Lola Kristine

An award-winning singer, songwriter, fingerstyle guitar player.  In 2017 she earned International Fingerstyle Guitar Championship honors and since then has been on stages with the likes of Melissa Etheridge, Christopher Cross, and numerous other notable names in music.  She has been featured in Guitar Player magazine, Acoustic Guitar magazine, and among Guitar World magazine’s “Best Acoustic Guitarists in the World Right Now” in 2021.  She is also a two-time finalist in the USA Songwriting Competition and was featured in the GRAMMY Museum’s virtual program streaming from Los Angeles.  Her official YouTube channel has an amazing 1.7 million combined video views. This interview was recorded on-location at the NAMM Show in Anaheim, California, where she was chosen to perform.

Mike and Miriam Risko, founders of Mike Risko Music in Ossining, NY, have been shaping the local music scene in Westchester County since 1995. In 2010, they expanded their successful music school by opening a music store, adding retail, rentals, and repairs to their offerings. Today, their business is a hub for music education, instruments, and community events, with hundreds of students taking lessons each week. They have a dedicated staff of 30 talented musicians who share their passion for teaching and performing. Fueled by his belief that all people are innately musical, Dave Wish founded Music Will, a nonprofit organization that funds and runs one of the largest instrumental and vocal music programs in US public schools today. Music Will is also a leading provider of free instruments and curriculum. As a recognized social entrepreneur, Dave has been awarded numerous honors for his work in the field, including prestigious fellowships from Ashoka, The Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation, The Kenneth A. Let me share my journey with you. I started DJing at 16, playing school events in Sydney alongside my mate David. By the time I was 19, I had broken into the Sydney club scene, finally stepping into the career I had always dreamed of. From the very beginning, I was passionate about playing uplifting music—there's nothing worse than being in a club with a DJ who doesn't know how to get the crowd moving.

Over time, I made my way into the heart of Sydney’s nightlife. The 90s were the golden era for DJs—the energy was electric, the music was explosive, and the vibe was unforgettable. I had the privilege of being trained by some of the best and working with top talent in the city. That’s where I truly found my groove.

Honestly, I wish the magic of 90s music had never faded, but times changed. In the early 2000s, I hung up my headphones and turned to producing club tracks, especially since so many artists weren’t releasing proper club mixes. Still, I never stopped DJing—I just evolved and moved into a new realm.

Tim Paul is a solo piano performer today but was a member of several bands in the 70s and 80s including "The Four of Us" and "Crossroads". Tim also performed as a Ballpark Organist for the Quad City Cubs and the Clinton Dodgers for several years. He is also checked off a bucket list item playing the Wrigley Field Organ post game in August of 2022 first of Chicago Cubs Organist John Benedeck. Now he is one of the Owners at PIano Trends Music Company with his wife Bobbi Paul and he serves as  Board President at Raue Center for the Arts. Tim hosts a daily Livestream on Facebook called Lifting Spirits through Music performing on his Baldwin Blue Grand piano live on Lifting Spirits, many times with special musical guests and guest hosts when Tim is off. check out the group page
