Een nieuwe Branche Update met Samenwerkend Nederland gemist?

De afgelopen periode zijn er branchebijeenkomsten gehouden om belangrijke thema's als ruimte, economie en milieu te bespreken met ondernemers en gemeenten. Deze bijeenkomsten waren gericht op ondernemers die hun groei belemmerd zien worden door milieuregels vanuit Brussel, Den Haag en regionale overheden.

Binnenvaartondernemers kampen met een tekort aan ligplaatsen door woningbouw aan het water en onbetrouwbare vaarwegen door achterstallig onderhoud aan bruggen en sluizen. De prioriteit die gemeenten geven aan woningbouw gaat vaak ten koste van bedrijventerreinen, wat bedrijven beperkt in hun uitbreidingsmogelijkheden.

Ondernemers klagen over trage en inconsistente vergunningverlening, wat snelle aanpassingen aan de markt belemmert. Gemeenten vrezen daarnaast extra vertraging door de invoering van de Omgevingswet, omdat de benodigde kennis hiervoor vaak ontbreekt.

Deze bijeenkomsten benadrukken de noodzaak van balans tussen milieuregels en ondernemersruimte, zodat bedrijven kunnen groeien zonder vast te lopen in regelgeving. Martine Hauwert ging in gesprek met Frank Woreel van ondernemersorganisatie Samenwerkend Nederland en Add Koppejan, voorzitter van brancheorganisatie Koninklijke Binnenvaart Nederland (KBN). Wat zijn volgens hen de oplossingen voor deze problemen en wat kan de overheid hier aandoen?
