Nominated for Hip-Hop Album of the Year in 2021 at the inaugural International
Indigenous Hip-Hop Awards, brother duo Violent Ground, hailing from the
Kawawachikamach community, unveil their new single taken from their forthcoming
album Dissaranged, due for release on November 29. Produced with Garden Hill First
Nation sensation Mattmac, Capture the Flag is a hip-hop track with trap melodies, an
ode to their Naskapi nation and community, celebrating friends, family and life on the
rez.

Violent Ground are two brothers from the Naskapi Nation of Kawawachikamach, a small community in the northern borderlands of Quebec and Labrador. They are composers and lyricists who aim to enlighten and inspire crowds with powerful lyrics and their unique brand of Rap Music. The group’s name is inspired by the history of the land we live on and the issues indigenous people face to this day.
