Soul In Motion Records proudly announces the release of Étape 25, the label's first-ever digital compilation, bringing together the defining sounds of 2025 into one cohesive project. Named after the French word for 'step' or 'stage,' Étape 25 represents a milestone for the label both a reflection on the year gone by and a step forward into its next creative chapter.

Spanning 12 tracks, the compilation features standout music from Cloud Lord, Wagz, Kuttin Edge, Javano, Heron Flow, Unknown Face, and more a diverse lineup of artists who helped shape Soul In Motion's identity throughout the year. Each track has been handpicked to represent the evolution of the label's sound, offering listeners a journey through deep, emotive, and dancefloor-driven Drum & Bass.

To make the release even more special, Étape 25 includes an exclusive new and unreleased track from label boss Need For Mirrors, crafted especially for the compilation. This brand-new cut encapsulates the forward-thinking, cinematic, and atmospheric sound that continues to define Soul In Motion Records.

Soul In Motion Records opens a new chapter with SIMX, a series designed to give proper focus to artists who’ve emerged through the label’s Artwerk VA releases. Instead of leaving key tracks scattered across compilations, SIMX brings those moments together in a more considered way, pairing standout cuts with exclusive new material and giving each artist space to breathe.

The series launches with SIMX1 from Singr, one of the most consistent voices in the Artwerk catalogue. The EP collects four of his standout contributions and introduces the previously unreleased ‘Mode 4’, pulling his deep, emotive and forward-thinking take on Drum & Bass into a cohesive statement, with artwork that subtly nods to his journey within the Soul In Motion family.

Fresh from the launch of the 'SIMX' series with Singr’s opener, Soul In Motion Records keeps the spotlight firmly on artists who have grown through the label’s 'Artwerk' project. Up next is 'SIM2X', a focused showcase from Automatic, one of New Zealand’s most distinctive voices and a producer whose sound continues to stretch quietly but confidently forward.

Following the momentum of his recent 'Atlas' EP on the main Soul In Motion catalogue, 'SIM2X' pulls together four key cuts previously scattered across the Artwerk series and reframes them as a cohesive statement. These are tracks that thrive on patience and detail, where atmosphere and movement are allowed to breathe. The addition of the exclusive bonus track ‘Spirits’ rounds things off perfectly, a deep, rolling piece that locks groove and soul into Automatic’s unmistakable low-slung aesthetic.

Need For Mirrors - Holo Twist

This mix is a focused excavation of SGN:LTD between 2006 and 2012, a period where the imprint carved out a distinct identity alongside Shogun Audio. Deeper cuts, forward-thinking production and timeless songwriting defined the label’s catalogue, balancing soulful musicality with stripped-back low-end pressure.
Across this session, the sound moves through the many shades that made SGN:LTD special: warm liquid textures, crisp rolling drums, melancholic atmospheres and moments of darker, tech-edged intensity. It reflects an era where space mattered, sub weight carried emotion, and every release felt intentional.
Early releases from the likes of Lenzman, Spectrasoul, Alix Perez, Icicle, Technimatic and Need For Mirrors helped shape this chapter, alongside contributions from Proxima, Dose, Spinline, Serum and many more. Together, they built a catalogue that still resonates today.
The blends are patient and progressive, true to my style, letting tracks breathe and narratives unfold naturally. This isn’t about quick drops or nostalgia for its own sake; it’s about revisiting a blueprint moment in drum & bass history and presenting it with care.
