Built on a violin-led intro and cinematic dark pop production, the track blends opera-inspired strings, subtle trap rhythm, and restrained male baritone vocals. Italian-accented English and Italian lines give the song a quiet mafia-noir atmosphere where loyalty, power, and silence carry their own weight.

This moment introduces Enzo—the man everyone calls strong.

“Residue” began as an experiment with major sixths.

I was curious how far I could push that quiet warmth without turning it into something sentimental. From there the major sevenths naturally followed, adding that subtle tension that never fully resolves.

The piece grew around that contrast: warmth and distance at the same time. A room in low light. Rain outside. The city breathing on its own.

Somewhere in the late summer of 1986, a Polaroid flickers to life—its colors slightly flushed out, its edges whitewashed with time. Two figures stand beneath a dim florescent lamp in a quiet American town that feels strangely familiar. The girl looks a little like someone you might remember from rumors and campfire stories—short hair, distant eyes, a stillness that feels almost supernatural. The boy beside her sees her as both a mystery and a miracle. The Polaroid captures a moment inside two different worlds.

In this darker retelling of “The Promise,” the shimmering optimism of the original song dissolves into something stranger and more electric. Analog synthesizers pulse like distant signals from another dimension, while the beat carries the quiet mystery of secrets buried beneath suburban streets.

SINCERE IMPOSTER is curated by two musicians, both living within the same body, sharing a singular existence. They identify as Danielle & Dave. They are both psychologically and musically confused, yet extremely and unapologetically sincere.

Influences range from Weird Al and Nathan Fielder to David Lynch, Rosalia, Monatik, Atarashii Gakko!, Rammstein, T-Pain, and T-Swift. 

Danielle & Dave’s favorite inventions include the vacuum and the peach pitter. Their father is simply known as Vessel… who may be an entity or a god.
