!Paul (pronounced i-paul) continues to demonstrate his remarkable versatility as a producer. Following the success of his debut album Home, which explored modern classical, new age, neo-classical, lo-fi, and dream pop, !Paul is now expanding his sonic palette with even more genres while staying true to his unique sound.

The song opens with a beautifully subdued piano, its gentle chords paired with the subtle hum of an electric guitar and a bass that occasionally strays into dissonance. It’s a moment of focused serenity, drawing you in with quiet anticipation for what’s to come. There’s no sense of fear or urgency, only a calm resignation, an acceptance. As the guitar grows more prominent midway, it feels like a reassuring presence, guiding you gently through the ebb and flow of your thoughts. SMYAH: This is my fourth album. I decided to name it Liminal Spaces because of its dream-like atmosphere. Liminal spaces are the uncertain transitions between where you've been and where you're going physically, emotionally, or metaphorically, which reflects the times of creating this project. I feel that Veronika's visuals bring the feeling of magical realism and make earthly places look outer worldly which really fits the idea of the music.

With his four albums released over the past decade, Danish electronic artist Emil Svane Breum-Seehuusen, better known as The Swan And The Lake, has set himself apart as one of the foremost purveyors of Balearic-leaning ambient music.
 
His simplistic, yet captivating compositional loops are brought to life in soft-textured synths and gentle bass ripples, producing songs that work like magic little daydreams. Waves of bliss and nostalgia that wash over you in images of faraway landscapes and cloudless skies.
 
With his fifth album, titled Impressions, Emil dwells in the scenes of everyday life – a springtime ice cream, an evening on Tenerife, the memory of looking at the seagulls. The quiet beauty of these moments is captured in subtle melodic meditations and Emil’s own vocalizations – discreet little phrases that swim around in the soft space of the music and gradually become poetic, extending the everyday into the beyond.
 
Besides a few appearances from guitarist Jonas Krag, aka Santino Surfers, the album is written, produced and performed by Emil.

The Swan And The Lake - Impressions (Full Album) - 0307

The "Chaconne in C Minor" was originally an organ piece written by Danish composer Dieterich Buxtehude in 1670 and the opening "Praeludium" was an improvisation written by myself in 2025.  This is a hard rock re-imagining of the brilliant style of D. Buxtehude.       

It was performed, recorded, mixed, and mastered in my home studio in Philadelphia, PA during January and February of 2025.
