Short set from Sublime Saturdays Episode VI: The Three of Us. Check out the Gelato Vero Sublime Saturdays folder for previous episodes and for the accompanying mix from Emily Moon and Cardboard Psychic. Theirs was a spiritual reset that hit just right as the sun said its goodbye. This week's theme was more-or-less 80s, but I managed to sneak one in from the 90s, because the vibe demanded it! Had a couple of hiccups because I tried to power through the glare, rather than planning ahead. This one's all edits, remixes, or covers that oscillates between Downtempo, Industrial, EBM, 80s, and New Wave. Feel free to share and like if you enjoy it!

80's Gen X New Waver Mobile Disco/Club Spinner in High School & College; Silicon Valley CA Product Engineering Executive/Solid State Drive Geek; Spent most of my allowances on extended, remixes and hard to find esoteric 12" dance vinyl records, used to frequent record stores in SF Bay Area (Amoeba, Rasputins, Tower, Record Factory, Star, etc.) on weekends and after class.  Still love to visit record stores & dig through bins of used records when i go on business trips. Recorded 100's of mixed tapes for classmates/friends and hours & hours in front of the turntables. I started producing covers from bands I love, just for the fun of it. I rework my songs a lot (mostly mixing), so they might appear and disappear periodically. 

I play keyboards, guitar, bass and melodica. I love Depeche Mode, the Cure, James, Computer Magic, Kasabian, Phoenix Down and Nine Inch Nails.

SPTFR (/Spitfire/), alias Giuseppe Esposito, is a shape-shifting creative talent, an insatiable experimenter in constant pursuit of his sound and fresh channels of communication to evoke emotion. Born in ’87, growing up between Sardinia – land of sea and wind where he was born – and radiant Budapest, he took to music at a very young age as a singer and guitarist, playing in rock and metal bands starting in 2002. At the same time, he discovered electronic music, immediately seeking out his own style, and released his first electro tracks under various pseudonyms as early as 2006. Music is an essential part of every moment of his life and the only way he can fully express his galvanizing spirit. Until 2015, he played in clubs around the island, starting from his hometown of Alghero, a pillar of Catalan culture, one of a kind in its history, language, and traditions. A long hiatus followed to focus on his work as a photographer and director. Photography and music, two passions with the same goal of remembrance, bringing back past sensations, chasing down chills. In 2020, a year of global crisis, he signed with 152 Records, releasing the single Gubble Bum for which he also directed the video. He went back to playing local clubs, as well as various European gigs, crowning his musical renaissance with a spot at the ADE 2021. With a smooth, deep, pure with a strong bass music's character he seeks to bring back forgotten sensations, create connections, and liberate energy.

As the son of a professional flamenco singer, Thomas has always been surrounded by music.  Exposure to flamenco influenced him because it has a dynamic range of emotions—from the "deep singing" style of cante hondo, to the more lively alegrias.  He has also worked in the corporate, independent, and online music industry for a number of years.  At one point he was a Content Manager for the Electronic Music genre at MP3.com, where he screened over 500 songs per day.  Exposure to a wide range of music explains the range of genres in his mixes—he uses whatever carries the mood.  From listening to Umm Kulthum's "Enta Omri" in his childhood, to New Wave and  Industrial as a teen, it became difficult for him to stick to one sound. Though vinyl was his original format of choice when he started in the 90s, the use of digital mixing has helped him better form soundscapes to expand your headspace.  Let him play with your moods for a spell.
