Every chord felt like a secret I couldn’t keep.
I fumbled through scales, my fingers unsure,
A beginner in a world where the masters endure.
But now I hear the music, like a whisper, like a song,
A language I’ve been learning, though it took me oh so long.
I’m not fluent yet, but I’m starting to see,
The beauty in the silence between melody.
So I’ll play with the ones who’ve already found their way,
And let my imperfect voice join the symphony today.
I’ve learned to read the rhythm, to write my own lines,
But I still feel the distance between their keys and mine.
They speak in crescendos, I’m stuck in refrain,
A student in a choir where the experts remain.
But I’ve come too far to let doubt take the stage,
I’ll turn my hesitation into courage on the page.

Found a bassist who could barely play,
But he had the heart, so we let him stay.
Practiced in his basement, walls soaked in sweat,
Trying to make something no one could forget.
Amps kept buzzing, timing was off,
Wondered if this dream was worth the cost.
Trying to start a band, make it loud,
Turn this noise into something proud.
Strings keep breaking, rent’s still due,
Just a girl with a dream and a tune.

First gig at a half-empty hall,
Sound guy ignored me, didn’t care at all.

The faithful heart, the quiet mind.
But one mistake can tear apart,
 lies can shoot down the brightest star.
I was the one who stayed through storms,
Anchored safe while love took form.
Through others’ lies, through fractured trust,
I wore my promise ..never turned trust to dust
He believed me, and I believed too,
A rock for us when skies turned blue.
But what’s a vow when temptations hum?
I shot my star  down and came undone.
Oh, how did I let it slip away?

The mirror shows a stranger’s face,
A fleeting thrill, a hollow space.
He asked me once if I’d be true,
And now the answer’s sharp, it’s cruel.
The hands that held, the lips that swore,
Are strangers now, they hurt much more.

our faithful road now full of cracks.

while Buddy's glasses filled with Oklahoma sky.
1963: The day the music froze,
Dion stood on a Bronx stoop, humming doo-wop snow.
Oh, the jukebox heroes, the radio thieves,
their voices still crackle through my dashboard dreams.

a backbeat pounding in my bones like a sermon.
From Lennon's laugh to Janis' wail,
every scratch in the vinyl tells the same tale:

1969: Hendrix set his Stratocaster free,
while Grace Slick fed the White Rabbit LSD.
The Dead spun wheels on a desert road,
and Bowie kissed the cosmos in platform soles.

Oh, the rebels, the choir, the gasoline saints,
their shadows dance in the barroom paint.

Watchin' conductors make their calls,

But the platform stays bare,

The bank man came with papers folded,
That last drought took all the cotton,
She took a job at Ray's Diner,
Started smokin' by the river—
One Tuesday evenin'
Her apron hung empty on the chair.

the front porch waiting, silent on the hill.
Every summer evening, I heard them call me home,
but tonight, it’s just the wind, whispering alone.
They built this life with love and grace,
now only wildflowers take their place.

This desert oasis is home to an enigmatic figure, a songwriter whose journey reads like a long, dusty road of honky-tonk bars and college cafeterias. He wasn't chasing fame or glitter; instead, he chose the soul-crushing beauty of music for music's sake.

Years spent hunched over sticky barroom tables and scribbling lyrics on napkins earned him a reputation—not in the spotlight but in the back rooms where deals are made. He wrote melodies that found their way into the hearts of stars who had lost their own muse. He sold his creations for cash, with no recognition, but the whisper of his songs carried the weight of his soul.

Finally, he bought this piece of desert paradise—a stable income from his timeless songs allowed him to live comfortably, if anonymously. Here in this hacienda, with his family beside him and the mountains as his backdrop, he found the peace to write hits under his own name.
