Mhairi McCall
Mhairi McCall (she/her) is an Edinburgh based performer, poet and playwright. She is a founding member of Pretty Knickers Productions, a female-led theatre company who champion new writing and female stories. She one of the writers and performers in ‘Mary, Queen of Rock!’ a brand-new Scottish musical that imagines Mary, Queen of Scots as a rockstar. Mhairi is passionate about untold female stories/perspectives, queer culture and of course - cats.

Als sich Siegfrieds und Kriemhilds Blicke treffen, ist es sofort um beide geschehen. 
Den grausam prophetischen Traum und den Schwur niemals zu heiraten, schiebt die Prinzessin schnell beiseite. Entsetzt muss Hagen mitansehen wie die Frau seiner Träume sich Hals über Kopf in Siegfried verliebt. Während das glückliche Paar verzückt im siebten Himmel schwebt, gesteht sich der verzweifelte Hagen ein, dass ihm Kriemhilds Liebe wohl ewig verwehrt bleiben wird.

JACOB YANDURA and REBEKAH GREER MELOCIK are a New York City-based songwriting team. Most recently, Jacob and Rebekah made their Broadway debut with their musical adaptation of the 2015 Peabody Award-winning documentary How to Dance in Ohio (directed by Sammi Cannold; supported by the Prince Fellowship and the Shubert Organization’s Artistic Circle). Their other projects include It Comes with the Building (book by Harrison David Rivers) and Wringer, a commission by New York City Children's Theater, based on the novel by Jerry Spinelli (Off-Broadway; New York City Center Stage II; directed by Stephen Brackett).

Recognitions include: SPACE on Ryder Farm residency, Jonathan Larson Grant finalists, NAMT Festival of New Musicals (The Last Queen of Canaan), Ars Nova’s UNCHARTED residency (The Tower), the Johnny Mercer Writers Grove at Goodspeed Musicals, the York Theatre's NEO residency, the Yale Institute for Music Theatre (The Last Queen of Canaan; directed by Mark Brokaw), the Dramatists Guild Fellowship, the Johnny Mercer Songwriters Project, Rhinebeck Writers Retreat, Cap21’s Writers Residency, and Ars Nova’s ANT Fest.

Jacob holds a B.A. in Music Composition from Kenyon College. Rebekah holds a B.A. in Poetry from University of Southern California. They both earned an M.F.A from New York University’s Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program in 2011.

Persistent and Nasty is a script-reading, debate and art as activism initiative for women and gender minorities in the stage and screen industries. We are committed to an intersectional approach and aim to use the space we’ve created to provide a platform for the spectrum of marginalised voices in our culture.

Through a series of script readings, live debates and a regular podcast series, we aim to amplify the unrepresented voices in theatre and film.

Our goal is to create a project that is safe and supportive, but that is also an act of protest. Persistent and Nasty is about changing the cultural narrative through the stories we tell.
