This Latin inspired piece opens with a familiar rhythmic groove played on the piano. The tune relies on a smooth melodic line, with a supportive backing from the rest of the ensemble.  An improv section affords the band  the chance to cut loose and reach for their inner 'Santana' groove.  For those less comfortable with improvising there are two different written out solos.
There is an additional tenor part that is the same as the baritone sax part. This is intended for those groups who aren't lucky enough to have a baritone player.

This driving minor swing melody in 3/4 time evokes the mood of 1960's Soho, London. An era of gambling, gangsters and smokey jazz clubs. The piece is a great introduction to jazz phrasing and articulations, whilst giving the more experienced players a chance to develop in the 'jazz waltz' idiom.

Taken from the Groovy Rascal sax ensemble series, you can now be the soloist! This is a 12 bar blues shuffle-feel with attitude.  With this tune alternating between a dominant and then minor blues there is plenty of scope to flex your improvisational muscle over the rhythm backing provided.  For those who would prefer,  there is a two chorus written out solo which has interesting phrases, blues licks, and technical challenges that you can work on and help you sound awesome as you blow over the changes.
