'Gilded' has been longer than usual in the waiting! I hope it's in keeping and catches the ear. 

It's definitely got my phrasing and hallmarks, hope you like the harmonies and rhythm under the solo. 

Lyrics were the last to go on here so some things never change! Hopefully this will be the catalyst for the next few tracks which are developing nicely.

Ok so this is probably my last release of the year! This has all the classic ingredients, stompin' beat, jangle guitars, wah wah solo, strong chorus, traditional middle 8 and yeah yeah yeah's! 
All together it's been a productive year and I hope the airplay and success from the last album The Perfect Storm continues with the next album for 2024.

Lots going on here, an addictive sincere guitar line brought to life by heartfelt vocals, bass and drums/percussion building tension slowly released over duelling guitars in a staccato solo. Melody, Harmonies and Expression continue for the next album taking shape.

Like A Spinning Top.WAV

So when I released 'Everytime' previously I knew there were lyrics waiting and here they are. Album 13 'Every Time' releases June 12th across usual platforms and is a strong collection of 12 tracks penned since last September providing a mature and melodic backing track to the summer. Enjoy.

Everytime

Here's a blues barn stormer for September. Purring with swagger and a driving shuffle beat 'Between Me & You' enters the complex world of changing relationships and personal diplomacy. A walking bassline hooks with the drums while Rhythm guitars are accenting a standard blues lick till the chorus builds with sliding and staccato chopped chords in sync with the vocals. 2 contrasting guitar solos develop the melodies along with 4 part harmonies that keep the shuffle unfolding. 

There's 5 more tracks awaiting vocal lines and the finishing touches so the past 'quiet' 2 months on here have been well utilised and the next album/project is taking shape. 


Between Me & You (Behind Bars)

So 'Blue Sky Thinking' was the first riff and idea after the release of 'Every Time'. Its taken a while to evolve into its finished state here and for an instrumental that's unusual for me, however its crammed full of delicate touches and has a refreshing air about it. My bass player and percussionist particularly enjoy this and the outro groove I feel is compelling and addictive with the hypnotic chordal changes. 
The next album progresses nicely and there'll be more tracks very soon once my lyricist finds more inspiration.  

Blue Sky Thinking

Here's 2x Les Paul's for the price of one, my 2016 traditional sunburst and 2024 standard Fuschia duelling away over an angst driven vocal sung from the heart. So many parts to this one its complex and yet direct and simple. The outro reminds me of tracks from 5 years ago off The Black Tulip mainly Gotta Get Up and Easy As 123. Multiple contrasting guitar rhythm and lead parts converge together and there's at least another 3 strong riffs taking you to the horizon.   
Its guitar heaven but all rolled into a comprehensive ball of rock heading your way. 
The artwork is as ever original too from my lens kind of reminiscent of a solar flare, keeping in context.

Explain It Away

Gibson Cherry Dot obsession continues. Inspired by exciting grooves and a 60’s vibe which I wear on my sleeve. There’s an eclectic mix of guitar fuelled rhythms all written, produced and performed by myself which have now culminated in 226 tracks in 5 years. Having added vocals to the mix this has brought a further depth and individuality to the songs. 2020 saw the creativity in writing and self releasing 2 EP's and 9 albums 'The Black Tulip' , 'Prismatic' , 'Who Would You Be?' , 'The Red Carpet', 'Cat & Mouse', ‘How This Plays Out', 'Positive Signs', 'All The Colours' and  '9' from April 2022, it's frenetic.
These are available on the usual outlets Spotify/iTunes/Deezer/Pandora/Napster, Bandcamp etc.

Its eclectic, quirky I confess, British? Experimental in places but above all stuffed full with Gibson guitars, energy and a passion for music and life in the highs and lows that days of late bring.  Hope you appreciate the artwork too all photographed or produced by me to keep it authentic and original.

The tenth album 'Keep On' saw the development of style and flow which  includes my personal favourites 'The Things That You Love', 'Man on The Run' and the title track, 'Keep On'. These all adapted a different approach and development that simply wouldn't have occurred at the start of the journey,  

The music's progressing and the album 'The Perfect Storm' set the benchmark in online attention with the title track single. I think the style and sincerity of performance mirrored the fact that all of my tracks are written for a reason and sparked by quite intense life changing events behind the scenes, you couldn't write it or maybe I could ! 
Personal choices at the moment are the opener Can't Erase The Memory, I Can and of course the single The Perfect Storm. 

Twelfth album ‘Heart Of Blue’, is completed and recently released  September 6th 2024. It's been a while (for me) in the making and each track just builds on the last. The themes of resilience, belief and positivity remain and the music continues to be guitar driven and punchy with hooks and catchy melodies.  

Album 13 is entitled 'Every Time' and is released to all platforms on June 12th. To come so quickly after 'Heart Of Blue' says a lot about the inspiration and creative drive. Themes of resilience, perseverance, hope and love, dominate in what I believe is my most cognitive and mature album yet, see what you think.
 
I'm thankful the creativity continues. The fact the writing and playing still excites and intrigues is a bonus! Where there's a story to tell and a melody to be heard the last song is always my drug for the next, 13 albums in it's not abating anytime soon.
