'Say It Again' has been some time (for me) in the making. Until 2 days ago it was going to be instrumental then inspiration hit. Chordal rise and fall, almost 'Perfect Stormesque' lyrics and a melancholy edgey vibe. Fiery jazz solo and subtle harmonies over changing drum patterns make for an intriguing and darkly beguiling track.

This track has been following me like a shadow. It's been progressively tinkered into its current final guise and I've lived and breathed it daily for the last 3 months. Given that the 220 preceeding tracks rarely exceed 1 month in the making I think that reflects the relevance and significance of 'All I Can Change'. It's a  heavy Blues based rocker with NickG twists, chopped 335 chords, d tuned, harmonies, groove bass, rise and fall a moody middle 8 and the squelchiest wah solo to date!

All I Can Change

Spring inspiration, probably one of the most creative periods I've had for a while. Album 13 completed with this track which sets its stall out clearly in the alternative rock style with all the Nickgcherrydot trademarks on display. The vocals and three part harmonies feature prominently along with a staccato blues riff, off beat fills and bass lines that Isaac Hayes would be proud of.  Reminds me in the production stage of 'Reason To Blame’ in that the chorus is so addictive I dare you not to find yourself humming it hours after, its indelible. 
Now the other side of this business takes over as artwork, mastering and running order are finalised for Album 13, 'Every time' will be available for summer release. 
It's the best yet, naturally.

All In Your Hands

So when I released 'Everytime' previously I knew there were lyrics waiting and here they are. Album 13 'Every Time' releases June 12th across usual platforms and is a strong collection of 12 tracks penned since last September providing a mature and melodic backing track to the summer. Enjoy.

This track has always stood out for me and needed some vox to bring it to life and put it on the stage it deserves. It was a challenge to recreate from scratch and by ear given where I was musically then compared to now. The original still has it though Id like to think this is more contemporary and polished and means that much more now.

So there I was checking through the running order for album number two and there wasn't an opener. All of a sudden 'Where are you Now ' pops out of nowhere with its hammer on intro , chunky chords and cheeky wah wah solo. Ideal candidate in a rigged election, both barrels start for that often quoted 'difficult second album'. However perhaps that'll be my issue for the third as for the second I had no issue in compiling the running order , all songs hot off the press from April till now, so fresh as the proverbial newly picked fruit. I hope the shelf life of the recent offerings stands the test of time as feel I am writing more nuanced and musically intelligent songs (hey get me !!)though still with my quirky 'unique' style of alternative , positive pop rock. If that genre hasn't been used before I'm having it ok? 
On a different note I have another two lined up which sound nothing like this so there we go , the third album will be starting soon then, ha! As ever, Nick.

Straightforward, down the line , no excuses Rock ! 
Just over 3 minutes pure Les Paul and Marshall , Felt the need to go back to basics as its uncomplicated and good for the soul. 
On the release day of the third album this track will sit firmly on the release of the fourth album!

This has been waiting patiently in the wings for over a month. Unprecedented for me tbh and I think I know why. Admittedly it was in a semi finished state, after a concerted effort it seemed right all of a sudden.

Racing Through My Mind.WAV

Gibson Cherry Dot obsession continues. Inspired by exciting grooves and a 60’s vibe which I wear on my sleeve. There’s an eclectic mix of guitar fuelled rhythms all written, produced and performed by myself which have now culminated in 226 tracks in 5 years. Having added vocals to the mix this has brought a further depth and individuality to the songs. 2020 saw the creativity in writing and self releasing 2 EP's and 9 albums 'The Black Tulip' , 'Prismatic' , 'Who Would You Be?' , 'The Red Carpet', 'Cat & Mouse', ‘How This Plays Out', 'Positive Signs', 'All The Colours' and  '9' from April 2022, it's frenetic.
These are available on the usual outlets Spotify/iTunes/Deezer/Pandora/Napster, Bandcamp etc.

Its eclectic, quirky I confess, British? Experimental in places but above all stuffed full with Gibson guitars, energy and a passion for music and life in the highs and lows that days of late bring.  Hope you appreciate the artwork too all photographed or produced by me to keep it authentic and original.

The tenth album 'Keep On' saw the development of style and flow which  includes my personal favourites 'The Things That You Love', 'Man on The Run' and the title track, 'Keep On'. These all adapted a different approach and development that simply wouldn't have occurred at the start of the journey,  

The music's progressing and the album 'The Perfect Storm' set the benchmark in online attention with the title track single. I think the style and sincerity of performance mirrored the fact that all of my tracks are written for a reason and sparked by quite intense life changing events behind the scenes, you couldn't write it or maybe I could ! 
Personal choices at the moment are the opener Can't Erase The Memory, I Can and of course the single The Perfect Storm. 

Twelfth album ‘Heart Of Blue’, is completed and recently released  September 6th 2024. It's been a while (for me) in the making and each track just builds on the last. The themes of resilience, belief and positivity remain and the music continues to be guitar driven and punchy with hooks and catchy melodies.  

Album 13 is entitled 'Every Time' and is released to all platforms on June 12th. To come so quickly after 'Heart Of Blue' says a lot about the inspiration and creative drive. Themes of resilience, perseverance, hope and love, dominate in what I believe is my most cognitive and mature album yet, see what you think.
 
I'm thankful the creativity continues. The fact the writing and playing still excites and intrigues is a bonus! Where there's a story to tell and a melody to be heard the last song is always my drug for the next, 13 albums in it's not abating anytime soon.
