in the words of the infamous Chaz Michael Michaels, this show is about one song and one song only from the Tiesto of Modesto, aka the Persian cowboy, Ardalan (@ardalann), and more specifically his song from 2016, Thunderdad. Ever since I first heard this song a decade ago, I have always loved its unique structure with a huge breakdown smack in the middle of a well-rounded bass chasm resonating with marimba clangs that builds into the only drop of the song which introduces Ardy’s signature syncopated percussive stabs saucing all over the top of a grooving house pulse. Every song you hear in this mix is a song that reminds me of elements, themes, rhythms, synths, and arrangements found in “Thunderdad” with a few Obi edits sprinkled in so see if you can pick them out over 2 hours of non-stop house grooves. enjoy!
