Unlike its predecessors, this model takes extra time to formulate responses, aiming for increased accuracy. By employing a method called reinforcement learning, it can assess its answers for correctness. Astonishingly, O1 managed to solve eighty-three percent of complex math problems, a significant leap from just thirteen percent by older models. Experts have expressed concern, however, as O1 outperformed even PhD-level scientists in certain areas, leading to calls for enhanced AI regulations.

Next, NVIDIA became the most valuable AI company. In November, NVIDIA achieved a remarkable milestone by surpassing Apple as the world’s most valuable company. With a peak market capitalization of over three point three trillion dollars, NVIDIA’s stock nearly tripled in value throughout two thousand twenty-four, fueled by a booming demand for AI hardware.
