I'M A MESS!

Dirty Epic welcomes aboard @ocdtechno for the 144th installment of Amplify Series.

Since 2017, queer techno artist OCD has developed a distinctive sound where powerful, relentless rhythms collide with a deep sensitivity to atmosphere, vulnerability, and emotional and psychological depth.

A resident DJ at Berlin’s renowned queer party Gegen, she is committed to inclusive, expressive dancefloors. Her releases span labels including Noise Manifesto, Gegen, Voxnox, Boudica, Instruments of Discipline, and Khazad Records.

After openly sharing her cancer treatment experience in 2024, OCD’s sound evolved into a darker, more introverted form, seeking the transcendental power of pain as a way to process both personal and collective emotional trauma. Her music aims to evoke intense emotions and allow them to be lived within an alternative space beyond conventional social frameworks.

A key milestone was her release on Paula Temple’s Noise Manifesto, coinciding with the label’s closure. She has shared the stage multiple times with Paula Temple, including performances at Noise Manifesto label nights. She has also shared the stage with artists she admires such as SNTS, Ancient Methods, Headless Horseman, Ellen Allien, Schwefelgelb, and Bloody Mary, and this year has performed again on the main stage at Whole Festival.

With performances at iconic venues including Tresor, RSO, Khidi, and KitKatClub, OCD has toured extensively across Europe, playing in Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Poland, the Netherlands, Greece, and Georgia. In 2025, she expanded her reach globally with her first Asian tour, performing in Mongolia, Taiwan (at the infamous Pawnshop), South Korea (at the legendary Faust), and China, with shows at Potent and Pillbox.

Through both sound and presence, OCD continues to explore techno as a space for confrontation, catharsis, and emotional truth.

Arsil Asmade

"Asmade" — Improved freestyles, as they are.

The name Arsil Asmade was born from necessity. During one of the most difficult periods of my life, I realized I didn't always have the time, space, or resources to carefully write and produce music. I had to rely on instinct, freestyle, and create with whatever I had available. That's what "Asmade" represents—making art from the moment, exactly as it is.

I discovered hip-hop and rap as a teenager in an unexpected way. A friend randomly called me one day and invited me to join his Nerdcore rap group, where the music centered around video games. That invitation sparked my passion for poetry, lyric writing, and eventually rap music.

I began recording with a simple Rock Band microphone, learning through trial and error. Wanting complete creative control over my sound, I later attended Full Sail University, where I earned an Associate Degree in Audio Engineering (2013–2015). My goal was to produce instrumentals tailored specifically to my style and develop the technical skills needed to shape my music into exactly what I envisioned.

Most of my music was created during seasons of struggle. I've recorded using whatever equipment I had available—from built-in Mac microphones to phone microphones. Those limitations became part of my creative process rather than obstacles.

Around the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, I experienced a period of nomadic homelessness that deeply affected my emotional state. Some of my music reflects the pain, frustration, and lack of emotional balance I experienced during that time. If any of my lyrics come across as harsh or slanderous, understand they were born from difficult circumstances rather than hatred. Growth has always been my goal, both as an artist and as a person.

Every track represents a chapter of my journey—learning, surviving, creating, and continuing to evolve.
