From the very beginning, Tassilo was there. When Electric Shapes was still finding its footing, he was one of the first artists to believe in the project. Under his former alias 1989, he delivered one of the earliest podcasts for the platform — a gesture that would set the tone for years of artistic synergy to follow.

Based in Frankfurt, Tassilo’s sound evolved and matured as he shed his alias and began releasing music under his real name. With his signature style — dreamy, hypnotic, and slow-burning — he soon caught the attention of the international scene, including a standout EP on the acclaimed Neubau label. But even as his profile grew, his commitment to Electric Shapes never wavered.

He was the very first to accept an invitation to perform at an Electric Shapes event back in 2020, marking a pivotal moment in the label’s journey. And when the pandemic hit and Electric Shapes transitioned from a collective into a full-fledged label, Tassilo once again showed his unwavering support by contributing music for release — not just once, but consistently.

Since the launch of the Unreleased Territory compilation series, Tassilo has been part of every single edition. Whenever a remix was needed, he was the first to say, “Yes, of course.” His solo EP on Electric Shapes became one of the label's early successes, helping to build its reputation and audience.

It's no exaggeration to say that without Tassilo Vanhofen, the evolution of Electric Shapes would be hard to imagine. He’s been there at every key moment — a true cornerstone of the label’s story.
