A vinyl collector, his sound inspiration as a selector comes from world music, jazz, soulful, disco music and electronics with Balearic reminiscences, adapting it to house in all its aspects as a mixer dj. In their recent album “A Twice Told Tale” Santi & Tuğçe tell timeless tales full of wonder and yearning for life despite the transience of all things. With “A Twice Told Tale – Reworks” a new cast of storytellers comes on board and takes these tales in new directions. Faithful to the heart of the original, yet full of creative spark, each new interpretation offers us new surprises. In this first chapter, Istanbul based producer Oceanvs Orientalis presents a bold, fiery retelling of “Kuyu” (The Well) which offers a peak into the deep, invisible corners of the heart, while Berlin based producer Martin Roth presents a mellow, mesmerizing retelling of “Bulut” (The Cloud) which describes the perpetual cycle of change and metamorphosis in nature.

From early beginnings in Beirut’s emerging electronic music scene in the late 90s Johny Asmar AKA Jonjay couldn't stand still and has been all over the place from organizing and playing gigs.

Jonjay has gathered an enthusiastic audience response and critical praise for his out of the box styled Build-Ups and Flows for memorable sets and was described in many ways, but aggressive and innovative are the 2 best to describe his style.

Jonjay has been a regular fixture in Beirut’s nightlife for almost 3 decades with gigs at the Legendary B018, The basement as well as opening or closing slots for Acid Pauli, Raxon, Sebo & Madmotormiquel, Themba, Nicole Moudaber, Steve Mulder to name a few.

Early 2022 Jonjay teamed up with Big AL in launching a new label Plus961Rekords Releasing unconventional Sounds that already started getting global validations and secured him a spot amongst the best curators of Proton Radio by hosting a monthly show Plus961 Sessions!

In his new project HcTc (Hectic) he gets back to basics by reviving the deeper, darker and stripped-back sounds he’s always held dear and expressed fondness for. Ranging from experimental, Minimal, Microhouse, Breaks to Leftfield, HcTc promises to gratify your ears and fuel your brains with every sonic venture.

Santi (from Asunción, Paraguay) and Tuğçe (from Istanbul, Turkey) left their homes to follow their dreams of music and have been road companions and musical partners for more than a decade. Currently based in Berlin after many years of living in the US where they first met, they each bring a vibrant mosaic of influences and ideas from all over the world: soulful melodies, colorful instrumentation, dreamy harmonies, and surgically engineered dance-floor beats, informed by years of Santi’s training in music composition and computer science along with Tuğçe’s studies in jazz vocals and creative writing. To this date, they have performed in many major electronic and world music festivals, clubs, theaters, and concert halls throughout Europe, Asia, North and South America and received critical acclaim worldwide (e.g. Oye! on NPR’s “Latin Roots: Best Alternative Songs of 2019”, Songs for my Grandmother among Beehype’s “Best Albums from Turkey” in 2017).
