ona:v (@ona_vera) is a Polish-born DJ, producer and promoter with an ear for dark techno and electro. A scientist by day and a DJ by night, the Edinburgh-based artist is an integral figure in her locale. Founder of the female and non-binary collective EPiKA, she curates a bi-monthly party called CiRCLE, where she books female and non-binary names from the harder side of techno and electro. Since entering the scene just before the pandemic, she streamed from Berlin’s HÖR Radio (@hoerberlin), played in Poland, Berlin and in multiple places across Scotland and the UK. In addition to her residency and internal work at Sisu (@sisu_crew), she garners a radio residency on Threads (@threadsradio). Labels including Pollination UK, and Paradise Palms Records have released her driving productions, with a recently-released debut EP on Diffuse Reality.

"I wanted this mix to be dark and… almost boring. With repetitive noises, echoes, without any breakdowns or groove. To bring back the sound from times when techno was a form of almost a rebellion, played in dark basements and warehouses - with poor lighting and with people wearing plain comfortable clothes. It’s again this idea of a party where the DJ is invisible, and the only thing they do is make people forget about the reality."

Bio: 
ona:v is a Polish-born DJ, producer and promoter with an ear for textural techno and dark electro. A scientist by day and a DJ by night, the Edinburgh-based artist is an integral figure in her locale, both as a DJ and through event curation.

Having built an extensive track collection for several years, ona:v debuted on Edinburgh’s club circuit in 2019, with bookings across the UK making up her diary since. On home turf, ona:v plays regular gigs in Scotland’s biggest venues, having supported Ben Klock, SLAM, Fjaak, Anne, Isabel Soto, Clouds, EKATA and many others. Outside of Scotland, she closed for Clouds and Randomer at The Cause, played at London’s Risen and Necropolis Festivals and in Berlin’s Mensch-Meier and About Blank. 2022 saw her Polish debut, and in 2021/22 she streamed from Berlin’s HÖR Radio. More recently, for two years in a row, she headlined the basement stage curated by Sisu at Hidden Door — a prolific visual art and music festival in Edinburgh, and performed multiple times at Scotland’s biggest festival – Terminal V.

In 2020, ona:v founded EPiKA, and started promoting EPiKA’s bi-monthly party called CiRCLE in Edinburgh. Here, she creates a nurturing environment for beginner female and non-binary DJs playing more underground flavours of electronics, with focus on techno. She also garners a radio residency on London’s Threads Radio and is an internal member and a resident DJ with the Sisu crew. Production-wise, she has released techno and electro tracks on multiple compilations and released her debut EP, Response to the Techno Crisis, on Diffuse Reality in 2022.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from ona:v. "AT1" comes off the first v/a compilation, Merequetengue, from French label Inf3cted Records. The comp features 11 producers from France, Poland, Ukraine, Guatemala and Honduras are brought together around the theme of hybrid & hypnotic music. 

All funds generated from this compilation will be donated to El Patojismo, and more specifically to the DJ/production section. El Patojismo is a guatemalan NGO focused on children education.

The Doppler shift is a change in frequency of emitted waves produced by motion of an emitting source relative to an observer.

Doppler Shift is an internet radio show on fnoob.com ...At the helm is Edinburgh-based ZUNI who has been actively involved in the Scottish techno scene for over two decades....Each show will feature a guest mix from well known DJ's Artists and Producers from around the globe....backed up by a 60min mix from Zuni

ZUNI has been involved in the Scottish techno scene for the last 20 years, honing his deck skills while spinning some of the most futuristic music around... ZUNI ran UTI - "Under the influence", in Edinburgh with his partners for 6 years, and was resident dj under the name Semaj. He hosted nights with many of the finest names in techno, and most of the local talented dj's and live act's over the years - with the music policy always focusing on diverse and forward thinking techno.
In 2002 Zuni set up the label - UTI records.
Soon followed by his own imprint INJUN EARS records
Also was a resident at Synthetic for 5 years, he's now added a new string to his bow by adding TRIBAL WAVES net label into the mix.....
After spending some time smoking the peace pipe with many tribes... the future looks good for TRIBAL WAVES -

ZUNI contributes with his remix of 'Flatline' -
For this second release from Scotland’s TRIBAL WAVES label owner ZUNI chose one of his own composition "Hoodwinked" for the remix treatment by KEVIN GORMAN (CLR, GIGOLO, MIKROWAVE).
