It's been a little over a year since the Monster Mix soundtrack concluded! While I haven't come to reveal Chara's fate, I do have some fun, unused content I've been meaning to share.

Determination and the fallen children's themes have been through a handful of versions that did not see the light of day. This version of "Determination" is even up as its own song, but it was updated (once more) before the equivalent themes for the SOUL kids were going to be posted.

The general concept behind each of these songs was mostly the same, just executed a little differently.

Chara takes the role of Mad Dummy. They're a Rogue that follows Asriel around as an apprentice of sorts. They can't use magic or spells, so they scavenge any weapon they can get their hands on. They have a secret hideout where they hide all their stolen goods... that Toriel can find if she's nosy enough. Unfortunately, Chara takes great offense to that and starts a fight.

A few years ago, two races ruled the earth.
HUMANS and MONSTERS.

Everything went well... until...

One day, a terrible plague fell upon both races.
HUMANS blamed MONSTERS for the illness, and banished them deep underground.

The Quarantine Protocol.

That... didn't help much, as you might've guessed.

Almost half of humankind perished, before the sickness receded.
We estimate MONSTERS lost half of their people, too.

... real fun story, huh.

Just goes to show how fear can mess things up.

Well. I... gotta go now.

Don't worry about where I'm going.

Only the strong survive up here nowadays.

Monster Mix is an Undertale AU made by a friend of mine back in 2016-2017. They've unfortunately since left the Undertale SoundCloud scene, but I still look back on this AU rather fondly. We've gone through numerous attempts of reiterating the AU, but the approach I'm taking here is having it based heavily on the oldest versions of the roles we had decided on. While the newer ones were definitely very cool too, it doesn't feel right to do that new take without them on board.

The roles will be revealed as time goes on, but there's a decent chance they're already known to quite a handful of you.
