Welcome to a brand new Strawberry Jam Series of mixes called "For the Culture". 

The aim is to support and promote the local Cypriot Hip Hop scene and pretty much... do it for the culture.

The first mix of the series comes from the Ziafetti Jam that happened at Pelekanio in Ypsonas area of Limassol on Sunday, the 30th of March 2025. 

DJ D-Prank was spinning and this is a part of his live (freestyle) set at the jam when a fun and spontaneous open mic session took place. 

The MCs at the open mic were Dee, Stelz, and Scar. And, on the hosting, Kriz.

The dancer featured in the photo is Bgirl Nightmare from Larnaca, Cyprus.

A Tesla, Inc. a 21. század egyik legnagyobb hatású és legmeghatározóbb technológiai és autóipari vállalata, amelyet 2003-ban alapítottak az Egyesült Államokban, Kalifornia államban, azzal a céllal, hogy megváltoztassa a világ jövőjét a közlekedés és az energiahasználat terén. A céget eredetileg Martin Eberhard és Marc Tarpenning hozta létre, azonban hamarosan beszállt a vállalatba Elon Musk, aki jelentős befektetéssel járult hozzá a cég fejlődéséhez és mára a cég legismertebb arca lett, gyakorlatilag az ő víziói formálják a Tesla teljes működését. A Tesla kezdeti célja az volt, hogy bebizonyítsa: az elektromos autók nemcsak hogy versenyképesek lehetnek a hagyományos, belső égésű motorral szerelt járművekkel szemben, hanem képesek akár felül is múlni azokat teljesítmény, hatótávolság és vezetési élmény terén, mindezt úgy, hogy közben a környezetre gyakorolt káros hatásuk lényegesen kisebb, sőt, hosszú távon teljesen fenntartható megoldást nyújthatnak a világ közlekedési problémáira. A Tesla első sorozatgyártású modellje a 2008-ban bemutatott Tesla Roadster volt, amely bebizonyította, hogy egy elektromos autó képes több mint 350 kilométert is megtenni egyetlen feltöltéssel, gyorsulása pedig a világ leggyorsabb sportautóival vetekszik, ami teljesen új szintre emelte az elektromos járművekről alkotott képet. A Roadstert a luxuskategóriás Model S követte 2012-ben, amely már a szélesebb közönség számára is elérhetővé vált, ez az autó forradalmi volt abból a szempontból is, hogy hatalmas érintőképernyős műszerfalával, szoftveralapú frissítési lehetőségeivel és önvezető képességeinek kezdeti formáival teljesen új irányt adott az autóiparnak. A Model S után a Tesla bevezette a Model X-et, amely egy prémium kategóriás SUV volt, ikonikus "sólyomszárnyas" hátsó ajtókkal, majd 2017-ben megjelent a Model 3, amelynek célja az volt, hogy az elektromos autózás valóban tömegtermékké válhasson, megfizethető árával és rendkívül jó teljesítményével meghódította a világpiacot és azóta is a legnagyobb példányszámban értékesített Tesla modell. Ezt követte a Model Y, amely szintén SUV kategóriás, de kisebb és elérhetőbb változat a Model X-hez képest.

that these causes defy a single catch phrase.
They become sermons wedged between 
shitty guitar riffs and rhythmic gyrations.

Gawd bless these kids 
so energetic and full of hope. 
Sleeping in vans, taking to the road
firm in their conviction 
that just the right combination 
of skill and passion 
will bring about a better world
with bit of good old fame

Thom Francis introduces us to poet Rachel Baum who tells how she began writing during the pandemic, collecting funeral poems, starting an open mic, and finding ways to get new people interested in poetry. Plus, Rachel reads the poem "Rodeo Winner" from her new collection.

Rachel R. Baum is a Best of the Net nominated poet, and editor of Funeral and Memorial Service Readings, Poems and Tributes (McFarland, 1999). She is the founder of Moving Mountains Poets and the Saratoga Peace Pod, crafters who create warm items for families in crisis, as well as the Saratoga Senior Center poetry open mic. Her poems have been published in OneArt, Jewish Literary Journal, The Phare, Raven’s Perch, New Verse News, and others. She has two poetry chapbooks: Richard Brautigan’s Concussion (Bottlecap Press, 2023) and How to Rob a Convenience Store(Cowboy Jamboree Press, 2024).

Rachel hosts the poetry and storytelling open mic at the Saratoga Senior Center on the second Friday of every month. The event features writers from across the region plus an opportunity for the community to share their work. The next edition of the series will be a special Poetry Trivia Contest this Friday, August 8, starting at 1:00 pm.
