Connections Volume 008

This is truly a special one for me.

Volume 008 comes with brand new cover artwork aligned with my new logo — the same one I had the honor of debuting at the Yotto show at the Palace Theatre on December 5th 2025. And it’s only fitting that this mix is the recorded set from that night.

A full-circle moment. Dreams turning into reality.

I really leaned into the true spirit of Yotto’s ANTi shows — no genres, no rules, anything goes — while still respecting my role as the opening DJ. The goal was to explore, create tension, move across sounds, and keep the energy building toward Yotto stepping on stage.

I’m proud of how this one flowed — dynamic, emotive, unpredictable, but intentional. You can feel the room evolving.

As a small homage to Yotto and his Odd One Out Radio Show, I closed the set with an updated version of a timeless classic from Sasha’s Northern Exposure — a track that I truly love.

Still buzzing from this night.

I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed playing it.

Everyone has a different understanding of an opening set, and lately I see a trend of people starting quite hard and fast, only thinking about the songs they want to play, not what people want to hear. Of course, everyone has a different perspective on generes, BPMs, and times to play a track, and that's exactly why I uploaded this mix, so I can show my perspective of an opening set. 

And every opening set is different, and a lot of things matter, such as the crowd, location, time of day, type of event, soundsystem, etc. But not everything has to be hardgroove at 142BPM, there is a time for that, and it's not 3pm in the afternoon at a cafe in your city.

I’ve currently been immersed in Progressive House, Melodic House, Organic House and some Tech House, so these mixes will be heavily influenced by those genres. masheen is a Sydney-based DJ and music producer who blends precision with emotion, crafting moments where song structures bend under tension. She leans towards techno, but moves fluidly across textures and tempos from other genres, assembling sounds that don’t traditionally belong together to create something new and surprising.

She has played at Chinese Laundry, Club 77, and Sutra Sunrise, as well as internationally in the US and Kuala Lumpur. Her production work has featured on the SYS Sister Sounds label’s UNITY compilation, which was spotlighted by Mixmag AU/NZ.

Producer and DJ from Timisoara, Romania, with a strong focus on techno, living in Eindhoven at the moment. My musical journey as a guitarist in a thrash metal band back home 10 years ago, which later developed into an obsession with studio equipment and analog gear, as well as the science behind recording music. 

Now focusing on opening my own studio in Eindhoven, followed by a collective and a soundsystem created to develop a community of people that purely enjoy music and deep listening, and that understand the culture behind it. I am sick of this superficial music scene created by social media, and I bet there are more people who share the same views. I just want to provide a space and a platform for such people to connect and form a thriving community.
