Follow Me Down

I wrote this while reheasing for Beowulf and it was towards the final few months before our Edinburgh Fringe premiere and I was very stressed. Well I was stressed from day one but the final month of rehearsals were really hard. On top of that there were some people I had once thought supported me wholeheartedly, people who were cheering me on from way before I ever started publicly releasing my music, that suddenly seemed... off. They were now trying to downplay my achievements and actively bring me down and it was painful. It was hard to call it what it is then but looking back I think it was jealousy. Anyway I then thought hey why care what they say if I know that they have not come anywhere close to achieving what I have? I knew the amount of work I was doing and the amount of stress I was under would have broken them in an instant and yet here I was still going strong and I was so close. So I wrote this song one night in bed after a long day of rehearsals. It was to exorcise the stress in a way and reminding myself why I was doing this in the first place. Because it was my dream and I was willing to do anything to achieve it. So I did because that is who I am. It was also to say "It would break you but it made me".

A gothic summoning where faith dies, doubt reigns, and the night answers.

Atmospheric cinematic synth echoes in between dark, echoing guitar riffs and screaming vocals, in a combination of classical-orchestral textures and gothic atmosphere.

“Doubt of Heaven and Hell” is a symphonic gothic odyssey drenched in spiritual dread and emotional defiance, where doubt becomes your only prayer, and the night your only sanctuary, where faith is questioned and darkness embraced.
