Chris Pana - Where to now? (May 2005 Promo Mix)

This is a mix that was recorded back in May 2005 on vinyl, during the peak of my DJ journey in Melbourne Australia, at that time I was playing at most trance events, festivals & clubs. Recorded on 2 x Technics SL1200 turntables and a Pioneer DJM600 mixer. This mix presents the tracks that I was carrying around in my record bag playing week in week out and also was one I handed out to punters at the end of my set for some self promotion before Facebook was a thing.

Early on in his career Chris had the privilege of spinning vinyl during the golden era of trance between 2001 - 2005 around Melbourne and parts of Australia, it saw him partner and perform at some of Australia's biggest dance festivals & Radio shows along with some of the following artists  and brands including - Future Entertainment, SummaDayze, Slinky, Godskitchen, Advent*jah, Summadayze (& Afterparties), Ferry Corsten’s World Tour, Christopher Lawrence tour, Guy Ornadel, Mauro Picotto, Marco V, Gareth Emery, Solarstone, Jaytech, John 00 Fleming, Armin Van Buuren,  Gabriel & Dresden, BT (Live), Nick Warren, Hybrid, Kyau vs Albert, Tiesto, Ronald Van Gelderen, Dave Joy, Sample Gee, K90, Pulsar, Steve Helstrip (The Thrillseekers), Push (M.I.K.E), Above and Beyond, Adam White, A*S*Y*S, Alphazone, Kiss FM Club lunch, DiFM - Needle Damage monthly radio show and many more. After a lengthy hiatus to begin a family and focus on other interests, in 2017, he returned to his musical roots that see's him actively producing bootlegs, edits, rework's (remixes) mashups & original works as well as studying at Abbey Road's Melbourne campus in 2019 that then led him to teaching at United Pop (Melbourne) over the course of 2020 / 2021.  Chris' passion for bringing up the next flock of talent is massive, spending his time focusing on getting up and coming musicians and artists familiar with Ableton Live and most importantly aspects of music theory for the electronic artist.  With musical releases pending and currently set for 2025 / 2026, get ready for a new, fresh and innovative sound and most importantly, a human being who's sole purpose is to lift up anyone he comes in contact with. Hiddenagenda are the Sheffield based trance duo behind some of the most uplifting, euphoric, and powerful trance & progressive sets you will have heard in recent years!

They met in early 2005 and shortly after Hiddenagenda were born. Although relatively young, they both possessed a wealth of knowledge and talent, which only strengthened as the pair joined forces. Their individual styles benefit hugely from each other and their combined knowledge of tune selection, their immaculate mixing ability and their extensive experience of the clubbing scene makes them one of the strongest duos about.

Both keen clubbers from an early age, and part of Crashers loyal following, they have seen and learnt exactly how to get the most out of a crowd. Frequenting the countries dance floors over the years has armed them with experience and knowledge that allows them to create their own energetic and electric atmosphere every time.

They found musical inspiration originally from the likes of Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, Matt Hardwick, Markus Schulz and Jon O’Bir to name a few, and over time have used this to create their own cutting-edge sound that continues to destroy the dance floors around the country. Their style is driven by big basslines and uplifting melodies with tech-influences, ranging from progressive warm-ups to their now legendary big room peak time sets. With a genuine enthusiasm for the music driving their performances and keeping the energy on the dance floor at a constant high, they will take you on a musical journey that will leave you gagging for more. 

Having made their name at Gatecrasher's infamous Howard pre-parties back in 2005/06 and with multiple appearances for the Sheffield based trance night OTR (Off the Rails), this pair really exploded onto the scene becoming firm favourites with many clubbers and gaining a mass of followers around the North of England. On the back of this success OTR snapped up the duo as residents for their return to the scene in late 2009, a night they still run successfully to this day. 

The duo have had a string of high-profile gigs; the highlights being a competition win of a set at the prestigious Trance Awards hosted by Trackitdown at Ministry of Sound, numerous bookings for Nu-Passion, Passion’s UK Indoor Festival, Magna Phase II at the huge Magna arena, Gareth Emery’s very own Northern Lights Concert, 2 appearances on Goodgreef’s Ibiza Boat Party as well as Goodgreef UK bookings, multiple appearances at Leeds based Digital Society, the Garuda 3rd Anniversary and a number of bookings at Birmingham’s Godskitchen, most notably a main room debut at SixFiveTwelve.

After a brief hiatus the pair landed back with a bang in 2022 warming up the Trancecoda Paul van Dyk event in Sheffield, a gig which marked the start of an exciting new chapter in their career to date. 

Coming armed with some of the most up-front tunes, some forgotten classics, and the ability to create an atmosphere like few others, be ready for a night to remember!

A fixture on the East Coast electronic music scene for more than two decades, Sean has earned the respect of electronic music lovers, DJs and promoters all over with his intelligent and smooth storytelling blend of organic and progressive house.

A true technical perfectionist who combines outstanding programming skills with near flawless execution all while playing to the atmosphere in which he is performing, Sean once earned himself the reputation as one of the most consistent performers in the East. His professional approach and attention to detail provided him with many memorable opportunities throughout the years having compiled a very long list of accomplishments.

Introduced to electronic music in the 80s and early 90s by musical acts like Depeche Mode and New Order it wasn't until he listened to Sasha & John Digweed's "Northern Exposure" in 1996 that his world really changed forever. Falling in love with the sound of the Global Underground, Sean was moved to share this new found love of electronic dance music with others. After an extended period of honing basic DJ skills at home he recorded and distributed his first demo to a few select Halifax promoters and was lucky enough to be given his first public performance at the now infamous Baseline Fridays @ Reflections.

Championing a sound and style that was a bit different for Halifax at the time, Sean quickly become known as one of the early pioneers of progressive house in Atlantic Canada. Holding residencies over the years with some of the most influential production companies including Massive Productions and Underdog Productions while also working the after hours scene with Kyle Kurts at various venues including Sub Rosa, Sean's reputation in the scene grew and provided him with many memorable experiences having played alongside a very long list of some of the world's biggest headliners including Armin Van Buuren, Deep Dish, Danny Howells, Luke Fair, Steve Porter, Ferry Corsten, Kaskade, Calvin Harris, Darude and Sultan to name just a few. In 2003 Sean was lucky enough to play alongside one of the DJs ultimately responsible for his musical journey, Sasha. A very special club event that continued into the wee hours of the morning at a local after hours venue where Sean & Sasha treated a small, intimate crowd to an impromptu tag set that still remains as one of Halifax's most indelible electronic music memories.

Somewhat more recently in 2011 Sean provided the winning mix in John Digweed's "Structures Two" international mix contest and was featured on Digweed's highly acclaimed radio show "Transitions". An accomplishment that even the most seasoned of international touring DJs aspires to.

While Sean's live performances have become increasingly rare in recent years, his love for the music remains unwavering and he regularly releases new mixes in his long running mix series "Chilling Moments" which initially started as a SHOUTCast live broadcast through CyberDJs.ca and is now celebrating its 20th year.

With Sean's dedication to the craft, ear for the music and storytelling ability each one of his sets is sure to be an emotional journey through sound.
