A sad song, remember my brother-in-law in the Philippines whom passed away Christmas Day, 2024.  I loved him very much, we were family, and despite myself being Caucasian born in Canada from Austrian parents he treated me with such affection and care as only a brother can.  Not a day goes by that I do not miss my brother in law, he will always be in my heart.  I first met him in person in 1997 (President Ramos was the President).  I'll write about my adventures in the Philippines in the near future.  I love my extended family, I love the Philippines, and I love Filipino people whom have always treated me like a Filipino - lol, I even went cockfighting and ate native Philippine food (which tastes great).  It's been a hard year as I've lost 8 relatives in the Philippines since Oct. 2024, but especially the loss of my brother in law, breaks this ole cowboy's heart.

I wrote this back in may 2025, I'm still missing my mother-in-law very much after all these years.  She briefly moved to Toronto, Canada in the early 1990's - we had so much fun.  Not a day goes by that I don't think about my mother in law, and not a day goes by that I don't miss her so, so much.  I\ll likely do a remake into Tagalog soon.

There are themes I'll be exploring the future, one being women (and men) whom remain single, childless and the effects later in life.  Companies see PEOPLE as 'human resources' to be discarded once no longer required.  In that way this is a cautionary tale to find a loving spouse, start a family when you are younger.

A cautionary tale as many of the first expats form the Philippines worked in many nations around the world, some too busy chasing promotions, higher-education, status, wealth and life.  Now older they are discarded by society and find themselves alone, often in foreign nursing homes.  Its really to remind people to look into finding a spouse and starting a family when young while there is still time.

Pangako sa Sariling Lupa - Promise to One's Own Land

A track missing my mother in law, really, track of ALL of the family still missing her.  When she left us it left a hole, a wound on the heart, which has never really healed.  I try hard to enjoy life and spend time with those I love as life has an ending - make every second count.  Oh and, the Rainforest Cowboy suggests you go hug your mother right now.

Ina, Miss Kita Nang Sobra – Mother I Miss You So Much

For Filipina's into Philippine soap dramas (which is every Filipina I've ever met, lol) I'll be making a few more tracks with the emotional twists and tunrs women love.  This track is based on a true story .. and not all that uncommon.  A mother sacrifices in this case, to send her daughter to university.  She graduates as a nurse and finds a job in Dubai.   While they exchange letters back and forth the daughter fails to visit her mother.  After 10 years her mothers letters suddenly stop and the daughter finds its too late to visit her mother as she has passed away.  Tissues are required for this one...enjoy.

All my love to the amazing Philippine "Overseas Foreign Workers" (OFW) whom sacrifice so, so much in order to provide for their families - especially the children.  My wife was a OFW when we met (she is a nurse/RN) .. we will be exploring OFW's much more in future tracks.  You're all in my heart (black-hat tip to the OFW)s).  In this touching song a OFW mother working very hard in a factory hopes her son will hear her heart under the stars and will sing.  Very emotional - a song which I hope touches the hearts of OFWs.

In the Philippine a man 10 years younger then his wife finds she grows distant.  He realizes her age and his more youthful appearances has made his wife insecure.  They are elderly and his wife's beauty has since faded with age like a withering flower.  While the wife is out he prepares a special meal, takes out photo representing their life together and plans to show his wife when she returns that she will always be the treasure of his heart.

I have many interests: motorcycles, ebikes and bikes, horses, agri-forestry, computers, writing, song-writing, Chinese-Donghua (and some Japanese-Anime), inventions, doing the impossible, repairing things, projects, esoteric and much more.
