The tone is both persuasive and distant—a man defending his own contradictions. Across from him stands the woman, open but uncertain, holding her jacket in one hand, slippers on her feet. The air between them hums with all that’s unsaid. The cover captures that instant outside the door, when hope still lingers but the balance has already shifted.
