Using David’s encounter with Mephibosheth as a vivid illustration, PFP reminded us that even in barren places like Lo Debar - the symbolic land of dryness, delay and obscurity - God's kindness can find you, lift you, and restore all that was lost.

He asked a piercing question: Can you even recognise your helper? Because sometimes, divine help looks ordinary, and other times, it may be delayed by unseen battles. PFP led the church into warfare prayers, declaring that in this month of August, God will send the particular help we need, not just help in general, but help that aligns with our purpose, healing and restoration. Expect to be remembered, restored, and repositioned at the King’s table.

At our Retro Praise Service, Pastor Femi Paul brought us this powerful message he entitled GREATLY HELPED, drawing from Acts 18:27. He highlighted the story of Apollos, whose arrival in Achaia brought tremendous help to the believers through God’s grace. This was not just assistance in passing, it was divinely empowered, life-changing help that strengthened faith and advanced the gospel. PFP emphasised that when God sends help, it is both timely and effective, producing undeniable results in the lives of those who receive it.

The message carried a strong prophetic tone, with Pastor Femi declaring that our God-sent helpers will not be hindered, delayed, or ambushed by the enemy. They will arrive with good news, bringing the exact support we need in this season. He led the church in praying our helpers will arrive soon, very soon and that their arrival will mark a turning point of grace, breakthrough, and fulfilment of divine promises.

Reading from Genesis 30:22 (NLT), we learnt that God remembered Rachel’s plight and answered her prayers by enabling her. A plight is a serious and difficult situation that can overshadow your other achievements - a heavy burden, a thorn in the flesh, a source of grief or vexation.

The message reminded us that God is able to remember our personal plights and provide what will permanently erase them. Rachel’s story (Genesis 30:1-2, NLT) reminds us that sometimes, even the people around us cannot solve our plight - only God can. Jacob said plainly, “Am I God? He’s the one who has kept you…” 

From Genesis 30:1a (CEB) - “When Rachel realised…” Pastor asked us: What are you finally realising about your own life? Pray about it now! This was a call to bring our deepest burdens before the Lord, trusting Him for divine intervention that will erase every long-standing sorrow.

At our Interactive Sunday Service, Pastor Femi Paul shared a powerful exhortation titled “The Winning Formula!” drawn from Luke 7:1-6. The story of the centurion reveals how being found deserving and worthy opened the door for divine intervention. When the elders came to Jesus, they pleaded on his behalf, declaring, “If anyone deserves Your help, he does!” The centurion was recognised as qualified, and because of that, he gained access to the winning formula of heaven.

Pastor Femi reminded us that life often places people in one of two categories: deserving or undeserving, qualified or disqualified, worthy or unworthy. The centurion’s testimony shows that when God and men judge you faithful and deserving, help is never far away. The winning formula is simply this: live a life that heaven and earth cannot ignore, and your story will become one of divine recognition and answered prayers.

Pastor Femi stirred the church with a call: “Are there Jacobs in the house?” reminding us that even with a broken past, God can rewrite our story and place a new name in glory.

The psalmist prayed in Psalm 90:17, “Make everything we do successful,” showing that success is not just in some areas but in every area of life. Everything truly means on all sides — spiritually, financially, emotionally, and relationally.

Pastor Femi encouraged us with the example of Solomon, who enjoyed peace and rest on every side (1 Kings 4:24, 1 Kings 5:4). This is God’s design for His children: to have results that speak, peace without fear, and progress without hindrance. As the song declared, “Everything you put your hand go work, Amen!” so may the Lord bless the work of our hands, crown our efforts with outstanding results, and grant us lasting success in all we do.

Today at our 2025 Teens Celebration Service, the message was brought by Inioluwa Oke, titled “We S.O.A.R – Surrender, Obey, Aspire, Rise.” With teens leading the service, the word came alive in a fresh and relatable way. Inioluwa reminded us that surrender is the starting point of true discipleship, where we lay down our own desires to embrace God’s will. But surrender without obedience is incomplete. Delayed obedience, she noted, is still disobedience — a subtle form of resistance. Using the example of Abraham’s readiness to sacrifice Isaac, we were reminded that surrender must always bear the fruit of immediate and trusting obedience.

The message also called us to aspire towards God’s higher purpose and to rise in faith and strength like eagles, even in the face of challenges. Christianity is not a casual label but a daily conscious commitment to live as living sacrifices that bring delight to God. Teens and adults alike were encouraged to live out Romans 12:1, offering their lives fully to God, trusting His good plans, and becoming living testimonies that inspire faith in others. As we Surrender, Obey, Aspire, and Rise, we are empowered to soar in God’s purpose.

Pastor Femi then led the church in warfare prayers, declaring that seasons of waiting, struggling, and stagnation have expired. From Genesis 24:56, he proclaimed that nothing will hinder, delay, or detain God’s people from entering into a new season of prosperity, success, and celebration. This was a timely reminder that in Christ, we have the power to break free and walk boldly into God’s promises.

At our Interactive Midweek Service, Pastor Femi Paul continued the series Real Peace, Peace of Heart and Mind with a message titled A Fragile Peace. He contrasted the illusory peace of the world, fragile, unstable, and easily disrupted, with the enduring peace that Christ gives. Worldly peace can quickly collapse under trials and frustrations, but the peace of Christ holds steady even in the face of storms (John 14:27, John 16:33).

True peace is not fragile but solid, flowing from a mind anchored in God and His promises (Isaiah 26:3). It comes from learning Christ’s way of humility and rest (Matthew 11:29), and trusting Him beyond circumstances. PFP urged us to reject fragile peace and embrace the perfect, unshakable peace of God that secures both heart and mind under every condition.
