Dear friends & visitors: I am very happy and grateful to present you this cover version of "I'll Be Around" by the American vocal band "The Spinners" from 1972! Chris Schaefer sang the lead vocals and significantly influenced the song with his outstanding voice. He also took over some parts of the video production. Many, many thanks also to Rachelle Amanda who with her second lead vocals helped the chorus parts to shine even more. Your voice is like the icing on the cake! Recorded at legendary Sigma Sound Studios in Philadelphia with the support of their MFSB house band, the Original has that particular Phillysound soul character that was very popular at the time. In addition to the original song, elements of other cover (e.g. by Hall & Oates) and Funk elements have also flowed into our version. I took care of the song arrangement, the recording of the instruments, the Mixing/Mastering and the final video production. In the first half of the 16-bar guitar solo, I was inspired by R&B/Soul/Funk guitarist Johnny Guitar Watson’s (R.I.P.) sound and playing style.
