20230225 Sleeping While Standing

I always felt the Metropolis was great for creating EBM melodies. Here's a simple and slowly evolving patch made mostly from MI Plaits (lead) and NE BIA (groove). Percussion, vocal samples and arrangement were added later on Ableton.

Patching details: Metropolis is sequencing MI Plaits; the BIA is triggered by the Varigate 4+ and modulated by the Voltage Block; the Voltage Block is also modulating the filter frequency on the Wasp; the Happy Nerding 3xMIA is attenuating the modulation while the 3xVCA is taking care of sidechaining the lead to the kick, attenuating and mixing the rest. Towards the end of the track there’s a lead sound made from NE BIA (spacy toms) and IME Piston Honda mk3.

A small arpeggio improvisation recorded with my portable, light Eurorack system.

This is a direct recording made with the Disting Mk4, with no post-processing. I hope the audio quality is acceptable. I composed this piece to share with my 5-year-old daughter. :)

Patch Notes:

The Metropolix sequences two voices.
The Klavis Twin Waves is filtered by the Raging Bull. Delay is provided by the Mimeophon.
The Piston Honda is filtered by the C4RBN, and its sound is processed by the Ruina Versio.
Envelopes are generated by the Zadar.
The Maestro acts as the master clock and modulates the Raging Bull.
The Chaos module modulates the Piston Honda and the Viol Ruina (unclocked modulations).
Reverb comes from the FX Aid (Clouds algorithm).

Comme Une Berceuse (Eurorack Improvisation)

I'm a lab-rat. gear-head. Composer of sonic explorations. Seeker of tone and frequency. Patcher of modules. Twiddler of knobs. Bender of strings. Programmer of sequences. Lover of all things that oscillate, resonate and reverberate.

My main instrument is a Eurorack Modular synthesizer comprised of approximately 70 modules. My favourites include modules from Frap Tools Instruō, Intellijel, and Xaoc Devices. I use a 16-channel Line converter from nw2s to get modular signals into my DAW.
My main polysynths are an UDO Super6 and a Sequential Prophet Rev2.
Production tools are Bitwig with an Ableton Push 2, with two Universal Audio and Focusrite AD converters; and plugins from GForce/Oberheim, Waldorf, UAD, Valhalla DSP, Plugin Alliance, Eventide, Softube, and Roland.
I also compose with electric guitars and basses, Toontrack Superior Drummer, and various Brazilian samba percussion.
