We're here today to explore what that means in a Nigerian context, so, now that we’re all caught up, let's introduce you to our poly folk…

Jafar: A 25-year-old polyamorous man living in Ibadan, Osun state, who has been in multiple poly relationships, but is currently monogamous with his partner. We spoke about how his neurodivergence shaped his love life (he’s autistic), and why he doesn’t understand “jealousy”. Oh, there was also some stuff about how he was introduced to BDSM at 17, but you’ll have to get into it yourself to find out the details.

"Magnetron Hearts” is a slow, cinematic ballad where science meets emotion — a love song written in the language of physics. Blending piano, strings, and luminous synths in D minor, the track moves at a tender 75 bpm, evoking the rhythm of hearts caught in orbit.

The story begins in a quiet library at twilight, where two minds meet like charged particles. I now live in Germany, working at the intersections of identity, migration, and liberation — supporting queer people facing violence while navigating the fragile, necessary work of chosen family, safety, and belonging. What guides me is simple and unnegotiable: justice without compromise, solidarity across borders, and the belief that marginalised voices deserve respect, not pity.

My music carries all of this. The sound is built from testimonial storytelling, emotional minimalism, and atmosphere shaped by memory — the quiet of hiding, the noise of protest, the ache of leaving, the strange brightness of surviving. Every track holds both the weight of lived experience and a hope that refuses to disappear.

I build slowly and deliberately.
I KNOW, SLOW GROWS GLOW.

This is not just expression for me.
It’s continuation.
It’s resistance.

Jenn is a queer, Black feminist from Oakland. Daren is an introverted nerd and novelist from Anaheim.

They are boo’ed up and have been since 2002 when they bonded over a mutual love of Brian McKnight’s “Never Felt This Way”, their favorite Brandy lyrics, and nineties TV like Family Matters, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, and Living Single. It was a shared obsession with Black cultural icons, histories, and artistry that drew Jenn and Daren to one another even though they are actually completely different personality-wise.

Jenn and Daren have always said to themselves, “Wouldn’t it be cool if we had a show?” Well, no major networks have reached out yet. So, until that happens, you can find the them here, sharing their views on race and culture and everything in between.

They are young thirty-somethings who have been married since for over a decade. Jenn and Daren have three beautiful, brilliant, radical, snarky kids who play no games.
