Zanim zdała maturę, dostała się do szkoły filmowej, której zresztą nigdy nie ukończyła. Mimo to jej twarz nie schodziła z okładek czasopism i kinowych ekranów. Uwiodła widzów w Polowaniu na muchy Andrzeja Wajdy, a potem stała się obiektem powszechnej nagonki, gdy miała zagrać Oleńkę w Potopie.
