We return to the fabled lands of Argentina, with a DJ now residing in Mexico. It's here where our guest has found the spotlight with his skills and crowd raising abilities. Please make some noise, for CASNIK! 

Casnik (Nicolás Castillo) is an Argentine DJ/ Producer, originally from City Bell, La Plata. Since he was a child he felt music in a special way. Nicolas began to experience everything he felt inside through movement, like Michael Jackson, taking dance classes and going through various musical genres to learn the essence of each one and understand the different states of mind.

During 2019, Casnik shared the booth at events with top-level national artists such as Elio Riso, Jay de Lys, Bodeler, Matias Sundblad, LeFrak, among others. He has also had a leading role in booths in other cities such as San Pedro, Mercedes, Azul, Tandil, Olavarria, La Plata, Mar del Plata, Pinamar and Monte Hermoso.

In 2020 is where he began to connect with new genres such as Progressive House and Melodic House.

In 2021 Nicolas moved to Tulum, where he began to open new horizons and continue to fulfill his goals, playing in clubs in Playa del Carmen, Holbox and Tulum. It was here he had the pleasure of being part of the line up with international DJs such as the Pan Pot duo, Roy Rosenfeld, Marcel Dettman, Armen Miran, Sam Sure, Gux Gimenez, Adi Dassler among others.

In 2023, he focused on his development in the world of music production with releases in Mango Alley, Balkan Connection, Sunexplosion, 3rd Avenue among others, something he continues to be involved in to this day!

We debut again in yet another new country as we take in Azerbaijan! This new city on the map has seen a spike in DJ's and artists in recent years, as it looks to establish its self in the scene. Doing all he can to push their unique sound, we ve a hot new DJ already making an impact online and in local gigs ... this is K9!

Kenan Musali (K9) has been Ding for 14 years mainly focused on progressive and melodic house, with ambient vibes running through his DJ sets. For Kenan, music is a way to connect with people, not just to entertain them, but to share something meaningful with them. 

After falling in love with Electronic music by listening to Paul Van Dyk, Kenan builds his sets around melodies, harmonies and a thoughtful flow. Each mix is more like a story rather than a playlist, often shaped by the moment but always rooted in feeling. Whether it's a subtle transition or a deep bassline, Kenan knows how to take his listeners on a journey, even for a little while.

Kenan has had his work shared on various platforms, spreading the vibes to both local and international listeners, and is an organiser and technical director of many local festivals. We look to give him some more of the spotlight and further his reach.

It's a debut visit to Mauritius for Il Modo today, as we land at the home of a DJ/Percussionist keen to make his name in his new home of Ireland. Here he is forging a name for himself in the city's harder, darker, underground venues .. pushing his sound to a whole new audience. This, is PHIL BASS!

Phil Bass is a Dublin-based Techno DJ and Percussionist originally from Mauritius. With over a decade in the scene, Phil is known for unprepared and improvised sets rooted in hypnotic, raw, and driving techno.

Starting out in Dublin’s underground circuit, he quickly rose through the ranks with residencies at top venues like, Index, Block, Wigwam and sets across Europe, including Ibiza, Belgium, and France. 

His background as a percussionist brings a unique rhythmic edge to his DJ performances, blending instinctive groove with driving, percussive soundscapes. Phil is currently focused on pushing his RAW collective with his better half Nila, a return to the gritty foundations of techno and is also a resident of the TRP collective.

Phil is busy collecting DJ sets across Ireland's capital, securing a warm up spot for the famed Deborah De Luca this coming month.

In late 2023, Brian co-founded CONNECTEDwith alongside Aubrey Fry, a cross-continental event series and creative platform dedicated to meaningful musical connection. In just its first year, CONNECTEDwith has hosted events in both the UK and United States, featuring a lineup of forward-thinking artists such as Nick Warren, Jody Wisternoff, Anthony Pappa, Quivver, Nick Stoynoff, and others who embody the deeper side of progressive and melodic house.

Brian’s exclusive guest mix for IL Modo unfolds as a contemplative, late-autumn journey—rooted in melody, tension, and atmosphere.
