Some of the most poignant moments in the gospels come when Jesus calls a person by name, but it only happens once in all the many parables he tells. Most parable characters are identified by the role they play, standing (or falling) as representatives for the purpose of teaching a lesson. But Jesus names one character whose identity is repeatedly dismissed and devalued by his foil in the story. Lazarus is given a name, and in that decision his humanity is emphasized. That focus also calls our attention to the lies that can cause us to dehumanize others in the same way that the rich man does to Lazarus.

When Jesus' disciples are confronted by the contrast between Christ's vision of peace and wholeness at the end of time, compared with the reality of injustice and pain in the here and now, he tells them a story about persistent advocacy. The knowledge of God's plan for healing gives us strength to not lose heart with the hard work of calling for justice and love in a world that needs to hear that challenge.

Kingdom Parables (Part 5)

Praise to the God the Supreme being, the King of The Universe. The King of King's the Lord of Lords. The almighty Creator and giver of Life, thank-you so so much for everything. Thank-you for your infinite, manifestation creation.

Praise to Master Yeshua, aka Jesus. What an amazing healer, to come down to earth and live in an earthly body with the remarkable healing, miracles and teachings that you gave to the planet.
To die for are sins, to conquer death and then to be resurrected.
To raise the dead, to heal the blind, the sick, to walk of water to name a few.

One of the greatest teachings to the planet was the sermon on the Mount, what an amazing, speech of wisdom to the Residents of planet Earth. 

I have taken some of the parables and then formulated it with other wisdom and knowledge that I thought was insightful.

Praise be to God and Jesus seated at the right hand of the Father. WE LOVE YOU BOTH, to Infinity and beyond.

Thank-you for the bible and your amazing teachings and miracles and knowledge passed down from the ages.

The theme that runs through this passage is faith. Having faith in God and His promises gives us the ability to forgive others and follow Him. Jesus protects our faith, He nurtures our faith and He calls us to exercise our faith rooted in the grace He provides. This message was preached by Pastor Erick Cobb on November 16, 2025.

Luke17:1-19 (Nov. 16, 2025)

This sermon, framed by the Coptic calendar's month of agriculture, utilizes the biblical Parable of the Sower to deliver a core spiritual message of preparation. The central analogy compares the human heart to the different types of ground that receive the seed, emphasizing that the Sower (God) and the Seed (God's word) remain constant; only the type of heart (the ground) changes, thus determining the outcome. The speaker argues that a "sensitive heart" is crucial for receiving God's subtle messages, contrasting the receptive hearts of the thief on the cross and the Roman centurion with those who ignored clear evidence, such as the soldiers bribed to deny the Resurrection. Ultimately, the purpose of this message is to urge listeners to cultivate a "good heart" that will receive God's word and yield spiritual fruit.

Fr David reminds us that God scatters His message everywhere — generously, patiently, and without discrimination — but it’s the condition of our hearts that decides whether the seed grows. Through the Parable of the Sower, he challenges us to look inward, recognise the resistance, distractions, and shallow roots that hinder us, and prepare our hearts to receive God’s truth with depth, clarity, and transformation.
