Released in conjunction with an essential 'Best Of' album that charts a decade at the cutting edge of electronic music, Patrick Chardronnet serves up two fresh cuts on Au- diomatique - ample testimony that his power to mesmerise and surprise in equal measure remains undimmed.
'Wobbler' marries spring-loaded, tub-thum- ping kick drums, a scything synth repetition, a throbbing bass and distant Hitchcockian strings to deeply hypnotic effect. A side-win- ding motif descends and ascends seductive- ly, plunging you into an immersive, bobbing trance state.

'Slowmo' is a contrasting lesson in meditati- ve deep house. An amalgamation of layered bass and synth pulses, fragile crackle and unfussy percussive detail slowly builds to a saturated climax. Clocking in at a downtem- po 108 bpm, it's a sign that Chardronnet has no intention of resting on his laurels, committed to exploring new styles and sonic realms.
