This episode features two of the most renowned bass players in history. David Hood is the bass player of the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section (aka The Swampers). He’s played on hit recordings by Aretha Franklin, Bob Seger, The Staple Singers, Paul Simon, Etta James, Willie Nelson and many others. Leland Sklar is a mainstay of the Los Angeles music scene and has worked with James Taylor, Carole King, Phil Collins, Billy Cobham, Lyle Lovett, Jackson Browne and many more. The Crazy Chester Radio Hour is created and hosted by record producer and songwriter Andreas Werner. This episode was recorded at Vancouver Island MusicFest 2019. Special thanks to Doug Cox. The Company Soundsystem emerged from Brooklyn's underground house scene and has made a name for himself with incendiary live sets and genre-crossing original tracks on labels King Street (NYC), Nite Grooves (NYC), LTHM (SF) and 3 Bridge Records (NYC).

All Talk are a 7 piece band which includes 2 world class brass players and both male and female lead vocals. All Talk play soul, pop, rock ’n roll, country, jives & waltzes and are willing to tailor their set to your requirements.

The band are sought after session musicians who’ve worked with the likes of Jack L, Glen Hansard, Nathan Carter, Rebel Rebel (David Bowie tribute) The Hothouse Flowers , The Commitments, Van Morrison, Frankie Valli.

All Talk are known for their energetic shows and audience interaction and are much in demand as a party and wedding band. All Talk know how to adjust the music they play to fit the crowd. One of the advantages of knowing so many songs and styles is the ability to modify the performance to the mood and occasion at hand. Weddings and corporate events are performed with energy, enthusiasm, and style. We customise our shows according to the people we play for. Versatility is one of All Talks strongest attributes.

I grew up in India in the 60s and 70s and these are bands that were the soundtrack to my younger years. Most of these songs are covers of some great singers and songs I grew up listening to. It's a joy and an honor to sing these covers. I try to do them like the originals wherever I can. I sing all the voices and play the instruments that are on each cover. I also do the recording and mastering. Shoot me a message if you like any of these tunes.

Alex Thode (he/him) would first like you to know that not only is the “e” at the end of his last name not silent, but that he is also a composer and arranger most known for his work in the pageantry arts. He resides in Waukesha, Wisconsin with his cat, Buzz. An alumnus of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Alex composes and arranges for marching bands across the continental United States.

Alex's clientele have been Bands of America (BOA) Regional Champions and Finalists, UIL State Finalists and Area Champions, and WGI Winds World Champions, with Finalists in every classification. He has also had the privilege of having his arrangements performed in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Tournament of Roses Bandfest.

In addition to his compositions and arrangements for the pageantry arts, Alex also composes symphonic band and chamber percussion works.

In his free time, Alex enjoys watching movies and believing he’s a professional film critic, hiking and pretending that he’s athletic, traveling to National Parks — of which he’d eventually like to visit all — and acting like he’s Marco Polo, playing piano, guitar and a variety of kalimbas, and being with good company.
