Well then, here's an old boy for you - today we discuss the 1996 game 'Civilization2' for PC.
Besides the silly American spelling of this title, what other things are there to be discussed about this classic of the RTS/TBS genre?

Civilization 2

Above the kingdom of Daventry is the Realm of the Sun, where magical beings called Archons protect the Mask of Eternity. The mask is an artifact that upholds truth, light and rank. Its leader Lucreto, however, becomes evil and shatters the mask into pieces. When a piece of the mask falls at the feet of a humble tanner named Connor Maclyrr, he picks it up and everyone in the kingdom of Daventry turns to stone and the land is sickened.

To collect all the shards of the Mask of Eternity, Connor must travel through a variety of topographically different lands. These include:

The Kingdom of Daventry is the land where Connor owns his house and where his royal quest begins. Here he encounters a wizard who offers him instructions on how to find the remaining pieces of the Mask of Eternity.
The Dimension of Death is ruled by Lord Azriel and serves as a pseudo-purgatory where souls await their judgment. This land is located in a plane outside of any other possible land in the game, and consequently Connor must find the gates to access it. After breaking the Mask of Eternity, the mission of the universe was wiped out accordingly, and the skeletal soldiers of Lord Azriel became unruly and rebellious. Thus, it becomes part of Connor's mission to suppress the Ascension.
The swamp carries within its borders a part of the Mask of Eternity. Although the swamp is not far from the kingdom of Daventry, the disaster of Lucreto left the road to the swamp blocked by obstacles. Consequently, Connor must first travel through The Dimension of Death to reach the swamp and obtain another shard of the mask.
The underground realm of the Gnomes consists mainly of tunnels underneath the mountain south of the swamp. During his journey, Connor meets the Gnomes who are struggling to restore an exit above their underground home.
The barren area is located above the Gnomes' underground realm and at the base of a volcano. It can be accurately characterized by its abundance of lava flows and the dry, hot terrain. Before the catastrophe, the inhabitants of this region regularly traded with those people who lived at the top of the volcano.
The frozen realms are the cold lands at the top of the volcano, which encircles a lake of icy water. It is inhabited by the snow nymphs, ice orcs and gryphs.
The Lost Paradise is a small collapse crater near the frozen lands and has the shape of a stone circle, which serves as a gateway to the Realm of the Sun.
The Realm of the Sun, like the Dimension of Death, is not physically connected to any other part of the world in which Connor's quest takes place. The land was a repository of the Mask of Eternity and is the site to which Connor should return all of its broken shards. It is here that Connor confronts Lucreto to determine his decisive fate.
At the beginning of the game, the half-stone wizard Connor meets summons a magic map for him that shows him all the areas he has already explored. Besides, it allows Connor to teleport between lands, once the teleportation points of each land (except the Empire from the Sun) have been opened.

Premier épisode de l'année 2023, un épisode spécial chez le collaborateur Jacques Germain, accompagné de Francis Payant et Julien Brière diffusé en direct sur notre page Facebook du Salon de Gaming de Monsieur Smith. D'ailleurs, excusez-nous pour les quelques bruits de fond entre autres sur les micros, ceux-ci étaient parfois hors de notre contrôle. Mais chose certaine, cet épisode était fort agréable à enregistrer, un épisode tout plein de passion pour le jeu vidéo. Au menu : retour sur nos jeux vidéo des fêtes, sur l'année 2022, sur les jeux annoncés sur PSVR2, nos attentes de 2023 et même... nos prédictions de cette nouvelle année gaming!

Sometimes I want to stay where I want to go away, and sometimes I want to go away where I want to stay. Ambivalent...
I have no 4k playbacks, no 16k, let alone 100,000. But my claim is different: I thank and appreciate all my loyal and consistent listeners. I also know that I follow too many and can't do justice to all. Nevertheless, I thank everyone who has followed me for the past almost 6 years 💜🌹 

A long, long time ago, there was an organ in the Christmas-decorated living room in his parents' house, where Frank grew up. Originally bought by his father for his two older siblings, they showed no interest in playing the organ. Frank, however, did. White and black keys and giving off strange sounds. 

So at the age of 9 he began to let his fingers circle on this instrument, searching for the right keys like on a typewriter. And another 9 years would pass before he could buy his first own instrument. Already at the age of 13 he made notes about the then current synthesizers, bought one magazine after the other and visited music fairs in Frankfurt, Germany.

His first keyboard was the Yamaha DSR-2000, which he bought in a music store near his hometown Biebertal. In installments! Finally he could develop himself further - away from the limited tonality of the small organ. The built-in 8-track sequencer helped him to reach unimagined heights. 
Little by little his equipment expanded and his ambition to create music like that of Jean-Michel Jarres came closer. Influenced by this and countless other musicians of the time, his interest grew, but he taught himself everything. Not even having attended a music school or being able to read music at all, he wrote one song after another and recorded them on the only medium available to him at the time: audio cassettes.
Many of these recordings are unfortunately lost forever, because cassettes are and were not the best recording medium. He has to try to play many of his songs from memory. 

In 2007, he fulfilled a long-awaited wish: to buy a KORG. He had always wanted to own one, but with the latest synthesizers at the time of their release having a purchase price of over 6000 D-marks (the currency of the time in the 1980s and 1990s), that dream of owning one was far away. So in 2007 he bought a used KORG 01W/FD at ebay. And as before with the purchase of the Yamaha keyboard, a completely new world opened up to him.

In addition, there were expanders and sound modules from Kawai, Roland and Yamaha (K1m, SC-55, QY10). Six years later his enthusiasm for making music ebbed and rediscovered his hobby (which it always was and still is). In 2018 in April he decided to present his music to a wider audience and uploaded his first song on the platform soundcloud. Since that time, thanks also to the ever-evolving software, he continues to evolve, experiment and relive his times through music.

A person who WANTS to make music but probably never will.
