‘In the name of <3’, published in 2020 by Onomatopee (Netherlands), explores how the far right in Europe and the United States appropriates the symbol of the heart for political purposes. By hijacking emotional language and imagery, these groups spread ideologies based on border control and deportation, promoting an ethno-nationalist identity. Charlie C. Thomas presented this research at a conference combining visual presentation and collective listening. Recorded live at the Maison des Métallos in Paris for the first edition of the Art Emergence festival initiated by Artagon, it is now available as a podcast on the club fringe website, a platform dedicated to discourse based on sound, theory and performance.
