The 115th release on Darin Epsilon's renowned imprint features a brand new original track by Rafa Silva, Chilean-born Berlin based artist and label manager of Perspectives Digital.

With a rich and varied background, Rafa Silva has always had an "infinite love for music and art." Drawing inspiration from his roots in rock bands and a deep passion for classical music, he has crafted a distinct and captivating musical style. Since beginning his music career in 2018, his sound has evolved and found a home on esteemed imprints such as Ritter Butzke, Zehn Records, Poker Flat, and the renowned Balance Music.

Rafa is no stranger to Perspectives, having remixed Cary Crank's "Roll the Dice" in February 2023, while his track "Tabula Rasa" was featured on Perspectives Around the World, Vol. 7 five months later. Now returning for his third entry, "Desires" opens with a running bassline, a whip-cracking kick/snare combination, and ticking offbeat hi-hats. Evolving smoothly, an arpeggiated plucked phrase sets the stage before a filtered analog motif adds melodic dynamism. A new bassline coincides with a mid-range key change, adding gravitas before a stripped-back breakdown allows various motifs to merge with a vocal pad. A huge snare roll builds anticipation, leading to a powerful drop where melody and bassline unite for maximum dancefloor impact.

Nihil Young has been a defining figure in Melodic Techno and Progressive House for nearly two decades. With close to 1,000 production credits to his name, the Italian producer's rise to prominence is undeniable. Boasting 325K monthly Spotify listeners and a place among Beatport's all-time Top 50 Progressive House artists, his career has been marked by releases on prestigious labels such as Toolroom, Vintage Culture, Purified, Odd One Out, Einmusika, Beatfreak, Zerothree, UV, and Paul van Dyk's VANDIT.

A familiar name and friend of the label since 2020, with remixes for Mehmet Akar and SHAZZE, Nihil returns to Perspectives a year after his high-profile original track "Night We Seek", featuring vocalist Robin Korsal and collaborator Unseen. His remix of "Desires" is a smooth and effortless reimagining that shifts the track's key while preserving its melodic essence. A grooved bassline variation propels the remix forward, complemented by a spine-tingling lead motif and carefully woven original elements. Born out of the renowned, best-selling Yin : Yang label concept, musical discourse is brought to life through the meticulous choices of Tripp Baronner – DJ, curator and full-time member of the Proton team. Presenting “Dialectics,” a monthly show airs on Proton Radio and DI.fm showcasing the finest underground music talent in two contrasting but inextricably linked hours.

Part 1 sees Yin thematically represented while Yang is juxtaposed through Part 2. Intimately interconnected while fluid by design, resident hosts alternate and interchange with guest artists to create a dynamic dialectical discourse.

Returning for a 10th instalment of the popular series, Darin Epsilon's label celebrates "Perspectives Around the World, Vol. 10”, featuring 7 talented artists from South Korea, Colombia, Switzerland, Argentina, and India.

Born and raised in South America, Lorenzo Turco and Franco Romano are established names in their own rights. The Argentinean producers have seen their unique blend of Melodic Techno and Progressive House feature on a host of esteemed imprints including BeatFreak, Exx Muzik, UV, Area Verde, and Sunexplosion, amongst many others. Combining for the first time via their "Your Secrets" EP for Area Verde in late 2024, Lorenzo and Franco find dazzling form with "Fragmental". A huge running bass pattern and chunky percussive backdrop lay the foundations for a twinkling ear-worm motif to establish itself before an acetylene-edged lead scythes its way through the midrange. A stripped-back breakdown adds emotion aplenty before rising in filtered crescendo to herald the second half, introducing another catchy motif that's sure to be a storming dancefloor destroyer.

The initial spark for the song ignited while waiting at Ngurah Rai International Airport, and from there, the idea blossomed into an electrifying fusion of deep bass, atmospheric depth, and captivating melodies.

Following the monumental success of his recent tracks Janissaries, Nirmata, and Tengri, Darin continues to push the boundaries of sound with his distinctive blend of melody, rhythm, and groove. Perspectives is involved with various projects that contribute to its success.  Music licensing, live events, and remix competitions have assisted in growing the label and expanding its fanbase.  Record label showcases are organized and held during the world-renowned events such as Amsterdam Dance Event and Miami Winter Music Conference.

In 2015, Perspectives Digital partnered with Beatport Play to organize a remix competition for "Outliers" by Darin Epsilon and Cid Inc.  The competition proved a major success with over 250 submissions.  Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic vs. Rick Pier O’Neil were named the Grand Prize winners with Subandrio, SummerMarian, and Solid Stone as the runners-up.  The Community Pick winner was awarded to Las Vegas based producer Nathan Clement.

Perspectives teamed up with Sonic Academy in June 2017 for a remix competition of Darin Epsilon's "One Thousand and One Nights".  Epsilon provided Sonic Academy detailed videos explaining how the track was made, later giving the contestants an opportunity to download the project file and stems.  Even though this was the first time any website created a tutorial dedicated to producing classic Progressive House, Sonic Academy received a record number of submissions with Paul Kardos, Ejaz Ahamed, and Magnetic Brothers being named the winners.

Darin Epsilon is a globally renowned DJ, producer, radio host, and label owner, widely celebrated as one of the pioneers of Melodic House & Techno and Progressive House. As the host of the Perspectives radio show and podcast, he has reached tens of thousands of listeners each month, solidifying his influence within the global dance music community. Since launching his label Perspectives Digital in 2010, Darin has continually expanded his artistic reach, further establishing himself as a key figure in the electronic music scene.

Originally from Chicago, Darin’s early career was shaped by his pivotal residency at the legendary Vision Nightclub. This was followed by his move to Los Angeles in 2008, where he worked with renowned brands such as Insomniac at Exchange LA, GIANT at Avalon and Vanguard, and Monday Night Social. His journey continued in 2017 when he relocated to Berlin, the world’s electronic music capital. By 2022, he further cemented his position on the global stage with a highly coveted DJ residency at Ritter Butzke, one of Berlin’s most beloved venues. 

Darin's career milestones are a testament to his pure talent and determination. In 2011, he gained international recognition by winning John Digweed’s 'Structures Two' DJ Competition, sponsored by Bedrock and Ableton Live, and in 2016, he was nominated for 'Best Progressive House Artist’ at the Beatport Awards. He also became the first artist ever to release a Progressive House production tutorial after teaming up with SonicAcademy.com, further demonstrating his expertise and commitment to music education.

Yin and Yang (n.) - the concept of duality forming a whole. A fundamental premise in Chinese philosophy now transposed to the electronic dance industry through the creation of Proton "Editions". Through encyclopaedic knowledge of the 2,000+ strong Proton roster of labels Tripp Baronner has envisioned a new concept of the principle of seemingly polar opposites, coming together as interconnected and independent universal forces - life and death, the dark and the light: one complete entity. 

From a passion for underground progressive house at opposite ends of the audio spectrum - the deep, shadowy atmospheres to the blissful, shimmering melodies, "Yin" and "Yang" were born in an effort to represent this phenomenon in musical form. Each release will provide a single remix of an existing Proton roster track for two inextricably linked labels in the form of a light (Yang) and dark (Yin) edition. Released on the same day, a strong contrast in styles will thus serve to complement each other and nourish the whole.
