J'ai remis en service la machine et le programme de 1995.
Un dessin à la plume, scanné, et passé dans Phonogramme avec successivement deux ensembles de paramètres.
Le dessin donne les hauteurs et les intensités, et surtout : la matière. Pour les deux interprétations successives, la vitesse en millisecondes par pixel du défilement de l'image de droite à gauche est la même.
Tous les points scannés de l'image ne sont pas forcément interprétés. Pour ne pas saturer les 256 voix avec les 2048 pistes de ce méga-séquenceur, un filtrage est effectué.
La Plume, c'est celle du stylo.
Le Dytique, c'est cet animal aquatique, terrestre et aérien à la fois, qui possède des antennes magnifiques, ressemblant à des plumes, justement.
L'accord des instruments est en 16e de demi-ton.

Artisan Dub Soup I 

This is the 1st of a new series of guest mixes to concentrate on the textures and flavours of dub techno.  The sounds and genre will always have a place on this cloud but, remarkably, I have never curated a dedicated series. I look ahead to sharing recordings from friends and producers from its community in the months ahead.  

Setting sail with a gorgeous and elegantly mixed set from Armin Bender who has followed the evolution of this genre for 30 or more years.  Armin is also a talented producer and previously released on Greyscale, Vuo and Splnch labels.
