One Fine Day

Dedicated to Smadar Elhanan & Abir Arami, beloved daughters of an Israeli and a Palestinian family, respectively, both victims of the conflict in the Holy Land. And to their whole families. 

Smadar, 13 years old, died in a Palestinian suicide attack in Jerusalem in 1997. 

Abir, 10 years old, died from a rubber bullet fired by an Israeli soldier in 2007 as she left school.

For years, both bereaved families have been involved in peace and reconciliation advocacy locally, and internationally. A novel about their extraordinary journey has been published by award-winning author Colum McCann, titled APEIROGON.
