I return to it, the old structure, where the years settle in the dust and the air is thick with family. It is a place held together by the weave of memory, both the gilded light of youth and the shadows of old grief. Joy and conflict live side-by-side in every uneven floorboard. The house held a steady, persistent warmth—a defiance against the cold world outside. Though strained and flawed, this is the root. We do not select the ground from which our first fire springs; we can only gather the heat it is able to give.

My Old Home

These days I am searching for a quiet corner inside myself. Life feels heavy, full of unfinished tasks, expectations, and this strange pressure to always push forward. Sometimes the world looks like a place shaped by forces that want to bend us, rush us, or break us. And beyond our own circles there is real darkness, people who choose to spread pain, people whose decisions can wound entire nations.

This track is my small escape. A moment to breathe, to let doubt speak honestly, and to look for a bit of light in all the noise. It is my way of reaching for peace, even when the world tries to pull it away.

Looking for Peace

The free demo version of Pianoteq has two limitations…
1) the sound cuts off after an indeterminate length of time, between two and a bit and 5 and a bit minutes in my experience.
2) various notes don’t play at all.
Given these limitations I tried to come up with something vaguely musical so here we have ZOA playing 4 instances of the Kalimba instrument and me improvising and using GeoShred to play a 5th.
