This piece was based on Michelangelo Buonarroti's famous sculpture Pietà (1498-1499). It is also the sixth movement of My SEVEN SORROWS OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY for violin & organ. During My Erasmus scholarship in Rome I've visited the iconic sculpture of Michelangelo's Pietà in St. Peter's Basilica. I wanted to interpretate musicaly the meaning of this word, especially the scene of the mourning and the deep sorrow of Mother Mary, holding in her hands the corpse of her son and Our Lord Jesus Christ, after he was taken down from the Cross.

Kvaraoke #6 - Senza te o Conte

Cantaloupe Island, originally by Herbie Hancock, has an intimate version by Milton Nascimento on the album Pietá (2005), which explores the roots of jazz and Brazilian music with a minimalist band lineup: Milton Nascimento (vocals and acoustic guitar), Herbie Hancock (piano), and Pat Metheny (acoustic guitar). This remix is an attempt to engage with these sonic layers and expand them with electronic elements.

The original version is already a jazz landmark, but Milton’s reinterpretation, with its delicacy and emotional depth, brought a new perspective. My remix aims to merge the best of these influences: Herbie’s groove and Milton’s soul, with the classic house beat.

Este remix é uma tentativa de dialogar com essas camadas sonoras e expandi-las com elementos eletrônicos.

A versão original é um clássico do jazz, mas a reinterpretação de Milton traz uma nova perspectiva. Meu remix busca fundir o melhor dessas influências: o groove de Herbie e a alma de Milton, com a clássica batida do house.

Romani Rose, předseda Ústřední rady německých Romů a Sintů, vystoupil 2. srpna v Osvětimi, kde si lidé připomněli vyvraždění více než 4 300 romských mužů, žen a dětí nacisty v noci z 2. na 3. srpna 1944. Ve svém projevu mluvil nejen o genocidě Romů, ale také o tom, jak svět i dnes přehlíží utrpení nevinných. Zmínil děti, které hladovějí v Gaze – podle něj se pak cynicky mluví o „vedlejších škodách“.
