"Captain Timmy and Finn M'Cool's Griddle" is an adventurous tale of pirates, ancient promises, and a race against time. Captain Timmy and his sensible First Mate, Grey Beard, are summoned by the mysterious Mr. Humphries of the Moored Pirate Cottage. They learn of an ancient wrong: pirates accidentally stole Finn M'Cool's griddle centuries ago, leading to a perpetual promise to help with a grand feast at Dunluce Castle.
The feast is imminent, and crucially, the griddle is lost! Captain Timmy and Grey Beard, aided by the capable Pirate Guild pilots Catherine and Frances, embark on a frantic quest to find it. Their journey takes them from secret pirate harbours and a hidden cottage with a knowledgeable former trainee, to a perilous encounter with napping, axe-wielding retired Vikings, and finally to a series of hidden maps.
The maps lead them on a wild goose chase, revealing that the ultimate map was hidden on their own ship all along! With time running out, they follow the final map to a fort roof, then to the Guildhall, where they finally recover the griddle. Their last challenge is to get it to Dunluce Castle in time for the magical feast, a task aided by an unexpected and majestic intervention. The story culminates with the successful delivery of the griddle, the magical restoration of Dunluce Castle, and the celebration of the feast, all while the heroes remain unnoticed by the revelers, their mission accomplished.
