Cloud Study is a quiet piece that listens back. Originally part of the exhibition Intimation of Endless Space Given in a Small Window of Time (Artspace Aotearoa, Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland), it is the only work from the series written in standard notation.

A study in dissonance, tone, and internal vibration. Tensions emerge and dissipate. At times, the ear itself seems to sing.

Best experienced on good headphones or speakers, at low to mid volume.

(FR) VOX est un motet contemporain à quatre voix, inspiré de l’écriture chorale de la Renaissance, entièrement composé à partir de glossolalies vocales, sans texte. La voix y est démultipliée, tressée, incarnée dans les timbres d’un quatuor SATB (soprano, alto, ténor, basse). Pas d’accompagnement, pas d’effets cosmétiques. Juste l’essentiel : une émission vocale simulée, synthétique — et pourtant, l’émotion y est étrangement vivante.

Cette pièce n’est pas le fruit d’une seule génération IA, mais le résultat d’un tissage patient de fragments : voix recréées, sélectionnées, harmonisées, puis réunies dans un même souffle.

Entre contrepoint, pulsation et résonance luthérienne, VOX explore la texture pure de la voix — même artificielle — et son pouvoir d’évocation.
Ce n’est pas un chant sacré, mais l’écho d’un sacré décontextualisé, flottant dans le vide sémiotique d’un monde IA.

(EN):VOX is a contemporary motet for four voices, inspired by Renaissance choral writing and entirely composed from vocal glossolalia — no lyrics, no semantic content. The voice is multiplied, braided, and embodied in the textures of an SATB quartet: soprano, alto, tenor, bass. No instrumental support, no cosmetic effects. Just the essential: a simulated human emission, synthetic — yet strangely alive.

This piece is not the product of a single AI generation, but the result of a careful weaving of fragments: recreated voices, selected, harmonized, then merged into a common breath.

Between counterpoint, pulse, and a subtle Lutheran resonance, VOX explores the raw texture of the human voice — even artificial — and its evocative power. It is not sacred music, but the echo of a displaced sacredness, floating in the semiotic void of an AI-driven world.

Ori Shalva, aka the Makharashvili family, is a band like no other. They formed out of a love for Georgian polyphony, and despite being 9,000 kilometers away from its homeland, for the past 2 decades they have nurtured the rare and intricate tradition of Georgian polyphony—an ancient musical form recognized by UNESCO as an intangible masterpiece of humanity. Their masterful performances offer a rare glimpse of the breadth of this  living tradition that remains largely inaccessible outside of Georgia. It is only recently that Ori Shalva’s artistry has begun to attract the attention of a small but growing circle of music producers and facilitators who recognize its profound cultural and musical value and the skills this family has to authentically present it.

Between shadow and light, breath and silence.
A sound explorer with many roots, I compose fragments of universes — experimental pieces carried by a non-lexical voice, without words yet never without emotion. Each track is an open enigma. I do not seek the norm, but the inner echo — the emotion to be shared. To listen is to cross through. To compose is to translate the unknown.

This beautiful quote by Michelangelo captures my way of thinking:
“I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.”

Vaya Quartet is a Bulgarian vocal group that brings traditional folk music to life through rich harmonies. Blending voices with passion and precision, we celebrate cultural heritage and connect people through the power of song.

My cross-genre music is born from a fundamental creative need to express my observations on the theatre of life and the world around me. At times, it allows me to construct a soundscape of a more desirable world, offering an escape from the often-ugly reality we face. For me, music is inherently rewarding; the journey of making and producing it is an intensely personal and profoundly satisfying experience.
