Bad Leather is the genre-bending project of Philadelphia-based musician and producer Joe Vela. Drawing from the golden era of disco, the natural world, and an insatiable curiosity for sound, Bad Leather creates music designed to fuel sweaty dance parties, transport listeners to faraway space, and make them howl in ecstasy.

In addition to sharing the stage with Chromeo, Bob Moses, The Magician, Bon Entendeur, and The Comet Is Coming, Bad Leather has graced the bill of many renowned festivals, including the Bonnaroo VIP Tent, Elements Festival, and Envision Festival in Costa Rica. Joe is also the founding drummer of the band Tweed and Philly's SENSORiUM, which has hosted over 2,000 attendees for the former city music & arts festival.
